PreSchool-A lemur is playing hide-and-seek with her baby. As Mama JoJo makes her way through the jungle looking for Jazzy, she asks a variety of animals if they've seen her child. They each respond in turn, "Not here," and a few suggest alternative places to look. This cleverly designed, oversized book makes use of multiple flaps and small die cuts that create new pictures with each page turn. Toddlers will enjoy the fun and humor in hunting for Jazzy. The boldly colored illustrations with thick black outlines are similar in style to those in the "Maisy" series. They are simply drawn but are eye-catching and engaging. An appealing choice for group or one-on-one sharing.

Lucy Cousins is the creator of many wonderful picture books for children, including Yummy: My Favourite Nursery Stories and Hooray for Fish! , as well as her bestselling books about Maisy the mouse. About I'm the Best, she says, "I had the idea for this book after winning a tennis competition. I loved telling all my friends and family about it, but then I realized that I was probably showing off, like Dog!" Lucy Cousins lives in Hampshire with her partner, four children and very fluffy dog.

My son (21 months) loves the book and wishes to have it read to him repeatedly. The cut-out pages are intriguing and he looks behind each to see who the peering eyes belong to. One weakness in the book is that the paper construction does not stand up to the enthusiastic page turning of very young readers.

Both my 4 and 2 year olds love this book! The illustrations are bright and colorful and the hide-and-seek story is very appealing to young children.

This book is beautifully illustrated and captivates my three year old. The uniquely cut pages add an element of mystery and surprise when each page is turned. We can't enough of this book! I hope Lucy Cousins will write more about Jazzy and his adventures. Don't let your child miss the fun filled search for Jazzy.
