The ingredients used in the book are ones that are easily accessible at your regular grocery store and things that everyone has heard of. No crazy ingredients that one would have to find at a health food store or Whole Foods. The Pots de Crème recipe, which is basically a chocolate mousse, is quite easy to make with only 4 ingredients, but the caveat is you do have to make it ahead of time because it has to refrigerate for 4-24 hours. I must say that after having this dessert it is absolutely amazing! It is very smooth and light and tastes so delicious! Laura Theodore offers menu plans towards the front of the book so you can put together full course meals that complement each other. She also has ingredient information and tips as well. Overall, this is a great cookbook for a vegan or vegetarian to incorporate into their meal planning as the recipes are easy and delicious!

When I first got this book I read it cover to cover, enjoying the mouth-watering photos. Then I dipped in and started making the foods. So far everything I've tried has been wonderful and EASY-- EASY, EASY! The Penne with Broccoli, the Double Cornbread ,the artichokes.--- I could serve any of these to my non-vegetarian family and they were perfectly happy with them. The piece-de-resistance came, however, when my grandchildren fought over the Crispy Portobello Steaks. Who could believe that kids who would never even taste a mushroom were now chipping away at this Portobello as if it were candy! It's a good as a portobello can possibly taste! I did make one change in that recipe, though ( using panko instead of cornflake crumbs). Make sure to use very good ingredients and best quality vegan mayo. It makes a difference in all of the recipes to use best quality ingredients.
Also, check out Laura.s website where I believe you can get answers to any questions. Her radio and Television shows are wonderful. (It's good to see these things done right before your eyes). Try her lasagna! Try her truffles. Try her Apple upside down cake. They're too numerous to mention and they ALL work.

This book is so great for anyone interested in vegetarian cooking and for skilled vegetarian chefs alike. The recipes are virtually foolproof, easy to follow, and delicious. So many of these recipes are actually vegan versions of familiar favorites, so it's a great book for people interested in eating vegetarian but who don't want to leave behind their favorite comfort foods.
