The only thing wrong with this album is the title.,

Jermaine Dupri has done it again ladies and gentlemen. Jagged Edge has come with a strong second album. The 1st, "A Jagged Era", came with "The Way That You Talk", "The Rest Of Our Lives" and the classic "I Gotta Be". "J.E. Heartbreak" has the same formula but Jagged Edge does a better job of presenting it this time around. With Jermaine Dupri you know you're going to have the fast songs. " Keys To The Range", "Did She Say" and "Girl Is Mine" w/Ja-Rule are all examples of this. This time around, however, even with "I Gotta Be" on the last album, Jagged Edge brings the slow jams and mid-tempo songs, possibly better than they ever will again. "He Can't Love You" the current single is a perfect example, as well as, "Let's Get Married", "Promise", "Healing" and "True Man". I'm not saying that Jagged Edge didn't put forth the effort last time but it will be evident after you listen to this album that they spent extra time in the studio. "J.E. Heartbreak" is definitely one of the best R&B albums out now.

J.E. Heartbreak: As Good As Their Debut Album,
By Cydney Rax "rmn1994" (Houston, TX United States) - See all my reviews

I bought the J.E. Heartbreak CD based on the few samples I was able to hear prior to purchase. This slickly produced album actually surpasses the great job that Jagged Edge did on their first album. The material is stronger, more mature, more consistent and is an overall excellent product. The harmonizing, rhythmic, and catchy songs are what captures me. The songs are hip yet classic and not as trendy as you'd think a young group such as Jagged Edge might perform. The music is so moving I bounce in my seat listening to this CD and I replay certain songs over and over again. Favorites include: He Can't Love U, True Man, Lace, and Promise. Everything is highly listenable. Highly recommended.

I bought this CD when I was on vacation in Orlando, Florida. To tell you the truth, it's one of the best CD's I've ever bought. Jagged Edge are truly talented and musically gifted. Every song on this CD reaches for the heart. You won't be disappointed. Trust me !

This CD is definetley classic Jagged Edge. It's everything you probably expected and more if you purchased "A Jagged Era" (Debut Album). Filled with a lot of sweet love songs dealing with the realities of love and commitment--from a man's point of view. Nonetheless, they deliver a lot of catchy, rough uptempo beats for those who want some hip-hop/r&b tunes... These are four very talented brothers who seem to have the special gift of making timeless music. Something we'll all be listening to for years to come !

R&B balladry at its best................,

when they do sing a ballad. If it wasnt for the flawless ballads( which even include the intro "Heartbreak") then this cd would be in gardbage can immediately. Songs like "Healing", "True Man", and "Promise" make this cd a bargain. The ballads showed at some times sound the same with the guitar-laced background but each is definitive in its own way. Surprisingly enough, the over played wedding song "Let's Get Married" isnt even close to one of the best songs on this album. In my opinion, "He Can't Love You" and the previously mentioned other ballads exceed the current single. The only uptempo song on this album that is worth listening to is the Beatnut-looped "Did She Say", which was what saved Jermain Dupri from going on my blacklist of music(Which currently contains Mary J. Blige and the entire Cash Money society) Now that my blood pressure is up ,I"m ready to discuss the low points of this album. Brandon and Brian Casey who wrote all the songs, need to be slapped for allowing songs like "Keys to the Range", "Lace You", and "Can I Get With You" to make it on the cd in the first place. In my opinion, Jagged Edge is a very below average group when they arent singing ballads. Jermaine Dupi really brought this cd from 5 stars to 4 but Brandon and Brian made it, otherwise, a classic.

Mixing smooth harmonzing , with some hip hop edge flava makes for the perfect mix for this 4 man group.. They shine on the ballads.. that is there forte.. but they show they can groove with the best of them grooves come courtesy of Jermaine Dupri.. Some of the best cuts .. He cant love u, Girl is mine, Healing, Did she say, True man, Keys to the range, Promises..

The new sophomore effort from this talented male quartet is a big step up from their debut album, "A Jagged Era". The new album boasts fresh, new lyrics that all are very powerful and full of emotion. The latest single "He Can't Love You" is only one of the wonderful ballads in this album, like "Let's Get Married", which the title tells all, "Promise", all about devotion, and "Healing", that has a Marvin Gaye-type of feel to it. "JE Heartbreak" also offers some uptempo tracks like blazin' "Girl Is Mine" with rapper Ja Rule and "Keys To The Range". Another interesting song is "Lace You", meaning once you get laced by them, you won't ever wanna leave. Overall, very solid R&B album with plenty of songs for people who are in relationships to relate to.

I really enjoyed this album. The songs on this CD were very nice. What made it great is that JE can really sing. I just love the way they sound and harmonize. At first I didn't care for this CD but it really grew on me and I actually began to like it. The best songs on the album to me were:
He Can't Love U-5/5 one of the best songs on the album, loved the overall sound What U Trying To Do-5/5 Healing-5/5 loved the beat on this one Let's Get Married-4/5 liked the lyrics, very pretty song Lace You-5/5 a sensual song, really liked the tempo But overall this was a very good R&B album. All the songs are just nice. This CD was just off the hook. If you're an JE fan and don't own this CD get it. It's definately worth a listen.

with all the great r&b albums coming out right now jagged edge's "j.e. heartbreak is one that you can't pass on. if you thought their singles "keys to the range" and "let's get married" were hot, then you haven't heard nothing yet. the boys of jagged edge can sing, and they do it well. and to compliment their vocal skills are great beatlines. this isn't one of those r&b albums that is slow and sensual, somehting that you would want to croon to...but it's a great cd for the car or if you're having a little party and want to break up so much of the rap. so to sum it up we've got well written music+great harmonic vocals=j.e. heartbreak (a great LP)
