First released in 1978 this album would be a fine addition to any Aznavour collection. The first half of the album has a "Christmas theme" to it. Starting with a superb version of "Ave Maria" with an interesting Beatle-esque intro. Heavy on ballads, standouts include the title track and "Noel d'autrefois" and an uptempo disco-big band like track "Je ne comprends pas". As the tracks play on from the christmas beginning the theme gets heavier. As if someone has gone to war "Avant la Guerre"
