This is absolutely his best French cd. The updated versions of songs like Helene and Pourtant are great. And FINALLY, the release of Je te serai fidele (I'll Always Be There) after waiting seven years. If you are a true Roch fan this is a must have.

It's like coming home hearing some of these older songs redone with a new twist. An absolute must have for die hard fans. Some of the songs have a jazzier or more upbeat sound, great to hear when you already know the words and can readily sing along. Great effort Roch! And it's a pleasure to have the cd semi-permanently living in my multi cd player!

I just discovered Roch a few weeks ago. I heard "Pourtant" and I immediately went out and bought the CD it was on. Roch is adult contemporary, and his voice is simply amazing. I haven't heard a male singer sound like this since Brendan Perry (Dead Can Dance). Roch can hypnotize me. Some of his songs on other albums are in English, but I prefer his native Quebec tongue. Sounds great. I recommend this CD as a first of Roch's to try because if you like this, you'll like his English albums even more.

The first words of French out of my mouth were the words to "Hélène" in 1990 while I sang along. Roch seems to get better as time passes. The new version of "Hélène" included in this collection of new and old tunes totally rocks! While Roch does tend to sing some sappy love songs, it's OK because they really do sound better in French than in English. This album is highly polished and contains a variety of sounds that are all pleasing to the ear. Highly recommended if you are interested in quality French-language pop that is produced to North American standards.
