1992 Catalogue to accompany the Feb. 5 - March 29, 1992 Exhibition. Text in German. 28 pages, with color photos throughout. ABOUT THE EXHIBITION & ARTIST: First recognized in the 1960s for witty, Duchampian constructions, Swiss artist Schnyder took a sharp turn in the early '70s, deciding, with no formal art schooling, to devote himself to painting. Since the 1970s his practice has included painting, sculpture and embroidery, and received much international acclaim. The works featured in this exhibition appear to be watercolors and pastels, much different types of work than those featured in his later exhibitions. He was not exhibited in America until 1995.
