Beware: More time wasted on computer hassle than its worth, April 1, 2004
This review is from: Jean-Paul Sartre's "No Exit": A Study Guide from Gale's "Drama for Students" (Volume 05, Chapter 10) (Digital)
As a student with assigned with reading and writing about "No Exit" in French, I really needed the help of this guide. Unfortunately, I cannot say whether its helpful or not because I will never be able to open it--or get my money back. The information under product details was faulty. It says "Mac OS Compatible: OS 9.x or later." After wasting 3 hours trying to figure out the equally faulty information that Adobe provides, I finally found an Adobe site which states that the reader, Adobe 6, required for this product does not support Mac OS 9.x. After a phone call to Adobe (and another 30 minutes spent trying to find a way to speak to a human), I got verbal confirmation of this fact. And it isn't as though we have an "old" system. We use a Mac G4 that cost over $5000 a couple of years ago, frankly a big mistake considering all these type of hassles we run into. I don't think I should have to go out and buy $100+ for a new operating system just because its new. And shame on Amazon for selling us these non-refundable pdf's without ensuring that we can use them. What a disappointment. What a waste of time.
I can't help wondering if I'd be better off going to the friendly corner bookstore.
