Love This Album,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: On (Audio CD)
The album is great. Jean has a great voice and the songs have a good rythm. He wants to makes his own music, because since he is Luis Fonsi's brother, he wants to make his own name on the music industry. He is doing really well, and he is also a great guy...so buy the cd.

The Best Latin R&B Singer in Music,
By
This review is from: On (Audio CD)
Every so often, an album comes along that redefines our expectations of music, and this is one of those albums. The majority of Latin singers with strong vocal ability stick to pop music, many others focus on the urban genre (Latin R&B or singing Reggaeton hooks). Jean is an incredibly soulful singer that has raised the bar for other Latinos in the urban music industry since Huey Dunbar of DLG revitalized Salsa for younger audiences. From the very first track - Duele - you're treated to Jean's unmistakable talent over a funky soul riff. "Juegas Con Fuego" offers up a hit-worthy track of Ne-Yo or Usher quality, it's a real headnodder that sounds great in your car. Not willing to stick to just one sound, "Dulce Cafe" is pure Motown for fans of old-school soul who enjoy heartfelt Spanish singing. Even on English tracks like "Get There", Jean shines, including the catchy Spanglish cut "Spanish Holiday" featuring rapper Epidemic. What's unfortunate is that some of Jean's greatest work will never make it to CD, because they are simply promotional songs. Perfect examples of this include "Hasta el Amanecer" (Spanish cover of J. Holiday's 'Bed') and "Te Esperare" (Can't Help but Wait by Trey Songz). Otherwise, this is an excellent album by the leader in Spanish R&B.

Excellent CD,
This review is from: On (Audio CD)
Jean's debut album "On" is a pretty good CD. If Jean wanted to show the difference between his brother (Luis Fonsi)and him, he did. They are both great singers but with a completly different style, Fonsi goes for pop songs while Jean goes more to the R&B and soul style. I was surprised, but not in a bad way, the CD was better than I thought it would be. The american music influence is really obvious in this CD and he mixes that with that latin "thing". Hereis my review for each song...1. Duele- First single, great lyrics and he sings it with passion and you can really feel he is hurt. 5/5 2. Juegas con fuego- First time I heard it, I didn't like it too much but now i like it! it's starts of with a violin but then it gets really danceble with erotic lyrics such as: "you are playing with fire because i'm sun, let's get burned". 4/5 3. No te puedo alcanzar- Beautiful lyrics!! Jean and Sin Bandera's Noel and Leonel wrote it. It's a slow song but it still has the R&B. I love the part when he says: "I can't get to you, i'm always one step behind" 4/5 4. Vamo'a chocar- Great song! One of the best. It's kind of a reggeaton song, this one is a radio HIT!!! 5/5 5. Get there- Great lyrics, really beautiful son. 5/5 6. Spanish Holiday- This song sounds like 50 Cent but still is pretty good. 4/5 7. Girls- Cool song. 4/5 8. Dulce Cafe- This song is really similar to songs from Alicia Keys and singers like that. The lyrics are really erotic and he really shows his vocal talent. 4/5 9. Cruel- Cool song, similar to Girls. 4/5 10. Ves- This is a cover from the original version sang by Sin Bandera. Jean shows his vocal talent and this version is a little more up beat than the original but it still good. 4/5 11. Get There (demo)- I really like this version is as good as the other one. 4/5 Over all this CD is pretty good and I recommended. 4.
