I realy enjoyed this cd. It kinda took me back in the day. Although, I wasnt born during the time of the Negro Spirtituals, my spirit naturally gravitates to the calls of my ancestors. Jeanette Thompson brings a strong energy to the songs on the cd. If you like the Negro Spirituals from back in the day, you will enjoy this cd. If you like the sound of a Soprano, that will be a bonus. Sit back, relax and let your Soul remind you of just how far we have come, since the enslavement of a Afrikan people. Our Faith Is Unshakeable!!!We Are Here To Stay!!

Great CD--Too bad it's out of print, August 24, 2008

This CD is wonderful and musical. The highlight (to me) was the tired, old, hackneyed, sung-at-every-Christian-campfire-outing-since-day-one, "Kum-ba-yah". I could hardly wait for it (not), since it is the last one on the CD...and I was gloriously surprised. What a wonderful arrangement!
