a good primer but insufficient detail,

There's not enough detail for the home mechanic to do the job. As a resource book, it's value lies somehere between the home and the garage. Many of the elctronic schematics were of very poor reproduction quality - could have been cleaned up rather than just photocopied. Very little data or diagrams on interior problems and structures (an area which most home mechanics might try to do). I doubt the home mechanic would try rebuilding a transmission or transfer case. But certainly might try some less daunting tasks. Overpriced for it's intended readership.

Missing a lot a stuff. When I was growing up if you bought a Motor Manual It had details and procedure as to how to get the job done. They don't bother to make them the way they used to anymore. It's really a Shame!

They just don't make 'em like this anymore. If you want to make sure you aren't messing up your classic Jeep, just make sure you have this book to reference. Well worth the money.
