Snow Leopard Pocket Guide is printed, should be available soon

As of August 31, Amazon still lists the publication date for my latest book, "The Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Pocket Guide," as October 10 (which was a placeholder date before Apple announced a release date for Snow Leopard). However, my publisher, Peachpit Press, assures me that the books are printed and available in some stores, which means Amazon should have it in stock soon!
I love this little book: 240 pages of the essential information - with lots of tips and important details - you need to know about Apple's latest version ofMac OS X. I worked really hard to get it ready by the time Snow Leopard shipped, and my editor and I even nailed it for the early release (August 28; Apple had previously said it would be ready in September).

New iMovie/iDVD Visual QuickStart Guide!

A quick note here to announce that the newest edition of my iMovie/iDVD book is out! iMovie HD 6 and iDVD 6 for Mac OS X : Visual QuickStart Guide
covers the latest versions of both programs in the iLife '06 package, including interaction with GarageBand (scoring your movie, and bringing the score back into iMovie HD) and iWeb (publishing a Web site or video podcast), plus lots of tips and real world video editing solutions.

Also, this edition is in full color, and I can honestly say it looks beautiful. Color enabled me to really point out color differences in the Lighting chapter, for example, and makes the iMovie interface clearer to read than the grayscale books of old.

I'm a freelance writer and designer. I've authored and edited a number of best-selling books about video editing, Web design, the Mac, and Palm devices. I'm a columnist for The Seattle Times, contribute regularly to magazines such as Macworld, HOW Magazine, and Photoshop Elements Techniques. The closest thing I have to a real job is Managing Editor of TidBITS.
