I had the pleasure of hearing Jeff Wahl play at his CD release party in Colorado. I heard bits of his first CD which was jazz oriented thru a friend a couple of years ago and was wonderfully suprised that this album had many songs that were very much like Hawaiian slack key guitar songs.

For all slack key guitar lovers and eclectic acoustic guitar admirers out there, I would highly recommend this album. Mr. Wahl in concert was incredibly versatile and played jazz, classical, and various steel acoustic themes. His playing reminds me a synthesis of various slack key guitarists on dancingcat.com

When he plays he sounds like 2 to 3 guitarists playing at once. He plays in a variety of tunings and in this CD is playing both bass lines and rhythms simultaneously.

For those of you into contemporary hawaiian music, his playing at times also reminds me of one of Hapa's lead guitarist (Barry Flanagan).......

Mr. Wahl is incredibly versatile player and down to earth too. Seems like a great candidate if Hapa ever gets re-launched!

This is Jeff Wahl's best CD yet! Intricate fingerpicking combined with sweet melodies that sooth the spirit and relax the soul. The notes linger in the air after the CD is over like a ghost haunting you to hit play again. This vetren Colorado guitarist writes great tunes that stand up well next to guitar legends such as Leo Kottke and Chet Atkins. The CD package is great too with reflective photos of the artist who is simply beautiful! All my friends love the CD, so it will make a wonderful gift for anybody!

This is a wonderful soothing collection of music composed & performed by the muscian.
