Haven't gone through the entire book just yet, but what I have gone through seems spot on. Chords, JK's leads, etc. Need to look at 'Embroyonic Journey' next, one of my all time favorite solo acoustic guitar compositions. Delivery was sooner than anticipated !

This is a fine enough compilation of tabs for some of Jefferson Airplane's most well known songs. However, the one song I was most interested in, Triad, is not included, as it says in the description. The actual songs are:

* Comin' Back to Me
* Embryonic Journey
* Good Shepherd
* Lather
* Plastic Fantastic Lover
* She Has Funny Cars
* Somebody to Love
* Three-fifths of a Mile in 10 Seconds
* Today
* Volunteers
* We can be together
* White Rabbit
* Wooden Ships.

This collection features most of the songs from Surrealistic Pillow ("Look Into Her Eyes" is the only one missing) and a selection of other major works from the Band's A team, through the Volunteers LP.

The lyrics are correct (unlike a few online sources that have hilarious mistakes in "White Rabbit") and the tablature is carefully matched with the normal music notation so the rhythm is actually correct, not always the case in books with tab.

Since Paul Kantner and Jorma Kaukonen came from the folk and blues scene, both often used alternate tunings, and those and unusual chord voicings are clearly indicated. The book also includes accurate transcriptions of solos, such as the outro of "Somebody To Love" and "3/5 of a Mile in Ten Seconds." The real revelation here, though may be the arrangement of "Wooden Ships" as the Airplane performed it on Volunteers. It's very different from what Crosby, Stills & Nash did on their first LP, but that version got most of the airplay (and an opening slot in the Woodstock film) so many people forget that Paul Kantner co-wrote it.

One of the many highlights is the explanation of the finger-picking in Marty Balin's "Coming Back To Me," a beautiful ballad that is deceptively complex but worth the effort. This collection is an advanced textbook for folk music that is slowly transitioning into rock.

Great tab book. Coming along on learning a couple of my favorite tunes. Wish there was a tab book for more of Jefferson Airplane's material. But hey, you need to find happiness where it is sometimes :)

I actually bought this just to learn Good Shepard. The other tabs were just as good and give you a really good insight into Jorma's 60's guitar parts. Pretty darn accurate. Not every song I would love to learn by JA, but a good start.
