About the Brand

In 1897, Pearl Wait adapted an 1845 patent for a gelatin dessert, and his wife, May Davis Wait, named the new product Jell-O brand gelatin. Decades later, in 1899, Orator Francis Woodward bought the rights to Jell-O brand gelatin from Mr. Wait for $450. Three years later, Woodward launched the advertising campaign, "America's most favorite Dessert" for Jell-O. Today, Jell-O, which now includes pudding and other desserts, is a member of the Kraft family of brands.

About Kraft
Kraft has come a long way since 29-year-old James L. Kraft moved from Ontario, canada, to Chicago and started selling cheese to grocers from a horse-drawn wagon. In fact, the story dates back further, since for more than 200 years, many companies have united to make Kraft Foods what it is today. It started before the Revolution--in Dorchester, Massachusetts--when, in 1765, a local physician, Dr. James Baker, went into partnership with a young Irish chocolate-maker, John Hannon. It was America's first chocolate mill, where, in 1780, they made a blend of quality chocolate called Baker's chocolate. Baker's chocolate was the first of a long list of companies that have joined Kraft Foods, Inc., in making good food for busy families.

In 1988, Kraft became part of Philip Morris Companies Inc., and a year later Philip Morris Companies combined Kraft and General Foods Corp. to form Kraft General Foods, the largest food company in the U.S. Some of the most popular and well-known brands in the Kraft family include Maxwell House, Yuban, Oscar Mayer, Breakstone, Grape-Nuts, Jell-O, Post, Minute Rice, Cheez Whiz, Cracker Barrell, Tang, Cool Whip, Shake 'N Bake, Stove Top, General Foods International Coffees, and many, many more.

From the Manufacturer

American families have been going for something Jell-O since 1897, when Jell-O gelatin was invented by Mr. Pearle B. Wait in Leroy, New York. With only 10 calories per serving, Wild Strawberry Jell-O has a sweet, delicious flavor and it's easy to prepare: just add water and allow to set in the refrigerator. Today, Jell-O gelatin is the world's most popular prepared dessert, selling over 300 million boxes every year. Nine boxes of Jell-O gelatin are sold every second in the United States. Make some Wild Strawberry Jell-O tonight and delight the whole family.

This makes the best jello salad / dessert and I cannot find apricot jello in the stores in town. Make jello as directed with 1 cup orange juice (heat to boiling). Stir in 1 cup buttermilk and a box of apricot jello. Store in the refrigerator. This is divine. The recipe easily doubles and triples. Hope you enjoy.

I love making jello shots from the special "once a year shipment" of jello these flavors. But you guys KNOW that the prices per 3 oz. box, are RIDICULOUS!!! I bought them from you THIS TIME because I couldn't find them in stores here....

This was not available in any local stores, so I got the 18 boxes , planning to share it with friends. I tried making the Jello with pineapple juice as the cold liquid and adding pineapple chunks after it started to harden. YUMMY! It actually tastes like pineapple and coconut. The colada Jello is a slightly different texture than regular Jello --less "gelatiny" and more creamy. Made with just plain water, this still tastes of coconut and pineapple. I understand you can make it with bottled pina colada mix --that would be fun for a party, especially if it had a few maraschino cherries and a bit of rum .

You have a million different dessert choices, and they all seem good. Making these indulgent foods isn't always easy, and often time consuming. Jell-O takes minutes in its basic form.
Jell-O's great for those with numerous allergies too!It doesn't have the seven most common allergens, WHEAT, SOY, DAIRY, TREE NUTS, SHELL FISH, and EGGS. Jell- O has no hydrogenated ingredients, and its calorie content is less than the majority of desserts, on the market. Sensitive stomachs can rejoice, with this berry delight.

I have always loved watermelon flavored products. When watermelon jello became available a few years ago, I was estatic. I can now make watermelon jello shots! However, last year I could not find this product in grocery stores. I was depressed, as was the fans of my jello shots. But now we can enjoy them again through the offering of Amazon! Yay.

An Interesting addition to the pantry. Made the first batch straight; will try again with the Island Pineapple or Margarita flavors (in layers, of course) to see how that turns out. Would probably be awesome with pinapple chunks or mandarin oranges in it!
