Customer Reviews

Hard to turn handle and hold unit still.
Joseph D. Hickenbotham
I used ice rather than the ice mold so maybe that makes a difference, but I could barely move it.

I might return it for the automatic one.

Got thia for the wife. She can not do it alone. Hard to turn handle and hold unit still. Even hard for me and at times almost impossible. You have to use a mold supplied and nothing else because of the way it's made. Don't waste your money or time.

I just tried out my new ice shaver for the first time. I bought it to have fun with a 4 year old. Figured we could take turns turning the handle (under close supervision). I used ice rather than the ice mold so maybe that makes a difference, but I could barely move it. Instead moving the handle in a turning movement, I had to do some awkward turns which was neither fast or easy. After I made the 4 year old a very small icee I lost interest in making myself one. He loved the taste of it with the jelly bean flavoring. I am freezing the ice cups provided with the Manuel Ice shaver to see if it is any easier.

I thought that the manual ice shaver would be more fun for my kids to use than the automatic one. However, I had to take over because my 16 and 12 year old kids couldn't turn the crank. I had to have one of the kids hold it steady while I labored over turning the crank! They seemed happy enough with the results though. I might return it for the automatic one.

I bought this yesterday, and froze water in the cups provided over night. It literally took me about 1 minute to make a rather big bowl full of shaved ice. That being said, I would suggest holding the handle not at the blue turny-thing were you're supposed to hold it, but further in as that makes it easier to turn. Would recommend!

I would give it no stars if possible. There is no why my 5 yr old could do this, I have a hard time with it. One hand has to put pressure and hold it in place an the other hand you have to forcefully crank it. Just with the first use as I was cranking it pieces started breaking off,;the handle, the a couple different pieces that hold the ice. This machine is junk!

Does what it is suppose to do that is shave ice! The handle sucks to turn but i got mine for $4.75 so I cant argue! Would I pay $15 No but for not even $5 you cant go wrong! If I was you pay a little extra for an electric one.nIts worth the extra $10-$15
