4.0 out of 5 stars Very Satisfied
I was dubious about this product but desperate because the itchy and painful jellyfish stings were keeping me out of the water on hot summer days. Because it is expensive, I only put it on under my bathing suit where most of the sting marks appear. Truthfully, I couldn't tell if it was working for a long time (it's hard to prove a negative). However, today I went into...

1.0 out of 5 stars Product Was Not Effective At All
We used this product on our kids in July and August 2009 at Gulf Shores, AL. I swam in the ocean as well, almost as much as my kids but without this product. I had no jelly fish stings, and my son's had seven stings between them.

So, I cannot say this product works at all.

However, today I went into the water without the lotion on and I came out with many itchy sting marks. I won't do that again! So even though it is a bit pricey, I will buy this product again or switch to swimming in a pool.

I live in South Florida and cant look at the water with out the sea lice stinging me, however as an avid snorkeler and scuba diver, I needed something to help me enjoy the water. This has helped greatly, since I started using the lotion I have had minimal to no- thats NO breakouts!!! Awesome!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Safe Sea - Protection from Jellyfish stings and Sea Lice, July 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Safe Sea is a very effective product at preventing the occurrence of rashes from sea lice. We recently traveled to the Mexican Caribbean in early July where we spent most of the time in the ocean both snorkeling and swimming and Safe Sea performed extremely well. The last time we traveled to this destination, we ended up with a rash caused by sea lice, but not this time around.

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfaction, July 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am very satisfied with this product. I have extreme allergies to sea lice which first erupted when I lived in the Fl Keys. They have now followed me to the gulf which prides itself on rarely seeing them. However, this product works well for me enabling me to once again venture into the water.

Postage was a bit pricey, though!

Purchased 2 bottles of this for a trip to the Caymans. It comes with no safety seal or any type of wrapping. Could be just plain old lotion for all I know. My daugther did get whipped by a jellyfish. Hard to tell if it works or not. Better safe than sorry so we thought we would try it. Would probably use it again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not rely on this product, April 14, 2011
This review is from: Jellyfish Sting protective lotion - sunscreen - sunblock - sea lice jelly fish ocean 30SPF, 15SPF, 0SPF, 30+ SPF kid (Misc.)
International jellyfish marine scientists do not rate this product. They claim that it is pretty much snakeoil and that the claims by the manufacturer cannot be relied on. While there have tests conducted and results have appeared here and there, the efficacy of these tests are dubious and unconvincing. While this product may work some of the time as claimed, what happens when it does not work? Perhaps it will not work when it is your child being stung by the planet's most deadliest creature, the Chironex box jellyfish. In fact, NO testing has been done on the most lethal species of box jellyfish, NONE! Who is to say it works? All tentacles and stinging cells (nematocysts) are different. It also has not been tested on Irukandji jellyfish. They have killed people also and there are hundreds of instances of serious hospitalization from this animal around the world every year.

Perhaps it gets 1 star for UV protection.

Do not think that this product will protect you or a loved one from a serious jellyfish sting - buyer beware!
