Product Description

Editorial Review

Remember getting red-faced from those truths, or giggling with your friends over the dares while playing Truth or Dare? Those days are back with Jenga Truth or Dare. There are 18 red dare blocks, 18 black truth blocks, and with the 18 blank write-your-own blocks, the game can get interesting. With questions like "Describe your worst moment at a party." and dares such as "Slow dance with a broom." there are many laughs to be had. The strategy is to remove a block anywhere below the highest finished story, complete the required truth or dare on the block, and restack it on the top without causing the whole tower to tumble. The last one to put a block on without making it fall is the winner. It's simple and great fun for groups, although you only need two people to play. The natural blocks are reusable if you use a lead pencil and write lightly. (Ages 12 to adult) --Victoria Caldwell

5.0 out of 5 stars A great party game, or an ice breaker for meetings, November 2, 2000

We played this game as an icebreaker for the strategic planning retreat of a non-profit I'm involved with. I knew about the basic Jenga game, but this grown-up version mixes that with wonderful "dares" ("Slow dance with a broom") or questions ("Have you ever left the house without underwear? Details!") The truth and dare blocks are red and black; if you happen to get a natural-colored block, which are blank, you hand it to another player of your choice, and that player gets to make up their own question or dare for you to do. The next time I saw my fellow board members after the retreat, at least three of them had bought or at least priced the game.

4.0 out of 5 stars You could possibly learn more than you ever wanted to know.., June 22, 2001

Truth or Dare Jenga is an interesting combination of 2 games you never thought would go together. As the reviews mention, you get blocks that are for "truths" and "dares" and the blanks for whatever you decide to make them. Prepare to learn a lot about the people you play it with...

I do agree a little with the reviewer The Lo--the game is PG, but at least you have the blanks to write your own T or D on. The really fun part of the game is this: you can pull a block, read it, and decide you don't want to comply. BUT! Whichever block you pull out next, you HAVE to do, and that makes for some agitated looks, lots of sighing, and the inevitable, "Ok, here goes."

This version of Jenga might work well where the group playing knows one another on a surface level (or if they're fairly close); I can't say that I'd attempt this with people I'm meeting for the first time because of what some of the truths ask for. There's just some stuff you don't want remembered as part of a first impression. ;-)

A great choice for slumber parties, dorm room get-togethers, and your average party distraction. If this game doesn't get people talking and laughing, nothing will...

3.0 out of 5 stars Only fun with the right players., October 9, 2001

Unless you have players that are truly into the game of truth or dare, Jenga TorD will end being played just like the original Jenga.

You play this game just like the original Jenga, picking blocks from the stack and placing them on top. The twist is that there are red and black blocks each asking a question in which you're to tell the truth to, or asking you to physically do something (a Dare). Now with the right players this is a great concept because at some point someone is going to have to choose that "dare" block, and you get to see some pretty funny stuff. However, if it is a conservative group you're playing with, you'll end up not doing anything daring and just continue playing regular Jenga... which in my opinion is no fun at all.

Oh yeah, there are some blocks that are left blank so that you can put your own questions if you want (or do what I did and write different "shots" to take).

The bottom line, if you and your friends are risque... then this is the Jenga for you. If not, go for the original Jenga.
