Fine recording of some rare music, January 6, 2009

This is a fine recording by an accomplished viol ensemble, and should be in the collection of any early music enthusiast, or any music lover who appreciates the subtle and soothing sounds that such a group can make. An added bonus is this album's inclusion of a piece that seems to be recorded nowhere else..."Newark Seige" by Jenkins. This famous work has been recorded by other groups in transcriptions (e.g. for brass ensemble by Philip Jones), but not by the viol ensemble it was written for.
