5.0 out of 5 stars Jennifer Answorth, August 24, 2007

Jennifer Answorth
By Mildred Hernandez

Jennifer Answorth begins with the murder of Jack Answorth. Jennifer takes the gun in her hands and with the memory of twenty-five years of abuse and the death of her unborn child fueling her anger; she pulls the trigger and Jack Answorth lay dead on their bedroom floor. In fear of reprisal Jennifer flees her house of torture. For five long years she remains on the run from the law and the charge of murder, until she finally settles in a women's shelter in Chicago. There she befriends another abused woman, Maryellen and they strike up a lasting friendship. Mary like Jennifer is broken and through their friendship they both find healing, finding hope in new love relationships for both women, with the kind of men who will cherish them and heal their abusive souls.

Through her newfound faith Jennifer decides to return to Hillsboro Texas to face the charge of murder. There she will have to go before the Grand Jury. Medical problems surface there as well. Evil has surrounded her for most of her adult years and now she will come to the final reckoning of her life, but she will not be alone--loved ones will join her and God will be standing by her side, as demonic forces do their best to bring her life to an end.

Jennifer Answorth is a story that will bring tears to your eyes and anger will fill your heart for the men who have tormented these two women. I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the continuation of Jennifer's saga. Mildred Hernandez has in my opinion has shown in her writing the evils of abuse. Some depictions are hard to read, but reveal to the reader the pain and torture that many women endure at the hands of their abuser. I recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Wonderful!, July 13, 2005
This review is from: Jennifer Answorth (Paperback)
I am personally not a steady reader; however, when I read this book it touched my very soul. Sort of like, the book was somewhat about me. I could relate to almost every single detail. The characters I this book became real. The hopes and dreams and blessings that each individual encountered became real, my soul became real. It was definitely one of the most inspiring books I have ever read in my life. This book became so real to me; I actually began to find myself searching for the people in this book, in real life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dynamite!, June 4, 2005
This review is from: Jennifer Answorth (Paperback)
This is an outstanding book filled with heavy lessons which I learned as a young recent high school graduate man. It takes a powerful woman to pull herself up, after being beat down by her abusive husband, and Jennifer Answorth did just that. There were also lessons learned from the power of the new man who fell in love with her, who had also experienced hard and unfortunate events in his life, but from the courage he saw in Jennifer Answorth, he was encouraged to have the strength to fight for a better life for himself and his new love also. This is one book that should be read by every person thirteen years and older.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!, June 4, 2005
This review is from: Jennifer Answorth (Paperback)
This is going to be a hit book because it offers something for a variety of readers it whets a readers appetite.
The book is well explained and it is easy to follow the lively and vibrant characters that the readers can identify with.
I like the title because it is geared with the character. It grabbed me the minute I read it.
This is a woman who started from the lowest of lows and was able to hang on by her boot strings and climb for the mountain top.
