Big Disappointment, July 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: A/K/A: Jennifer Garner the Real Story (Instant Celebrity Biography!) (Paperback)
I'm absolutely obsessed with Alias so as soon as I saw this book I thought I had to have it. So I bought it and to my dismay, it was nothing like I was hoping it would be. They really didn't go all that in depth into her life - they just skimmed the surface. And what made me SO angry was how many typos and grammatical errors there were! They were all over the place! On the very first page they spelled Sydney wrong - they spelled it Sidney (and this was done many more times too)! They didn't use appropriate punctuation and sometimes had sentence fragments. They spelled Michael Vartan's (Alias cast member) role in Never Been Kissed wrong, etc. Also one mistake they made that really riled me was that in a caption of an Alias cast photo they only named a few of the people, AND they got their names wrong too! They called Bradley Cooper Kevin Weisman and they didn't even mention Greg Grunberg who was also in the photo! The quality of it was extremely low and I was convinced that a child had written it. I guess if you are looking for some basic facts about Jennifer it's okay, but I'm sure there are MUCH better books out there. Don't waste your money on this one.

Sadly, it was a big disappointment., May 13, 2002
This review is from: A/K/A: Jennifer Garner the Real Story (Instant Celebrity Biography!) (Paperback)
I expected a decent lengthed book about Jennifer Garner's life: Her workouts, her schedule, her history. Unfortunately, I got a book that seemed to be a children's work book with scant amounts of information on Jennifer that had been revealed in other articles. Every chapter has multiple choice questions at the end about her life, and word puzzles even. In fact, it uses the Alias font in big letters in parts, which was annoying, and it seemed too informal and just hurt to read. Sure, there were a few interesting things, but not much. It's just plain disappointing, and not worth it to pick up. It even has large sections on other stars and even one page on the definition of COUPLE. C'mon now...In fact, I'd say only 50% of this book was actually on her, and most was rehashed old facts and rehashed pictures. And the book used a large font so really there was very little to it. If you like these sort of things, fine, but if you expect something fascinating about her life and Alias, forget it. I'm a big Alias and Jennifer Garner fan, and I really am sorry this book is not better. Almost seems like I could've written this...
