I first experienced this exceptional voice with the release of "Jennifer Rush" in l985, which gave the world the best version of Power of Love - which she co-wrote. But, make no mistake, this woman can sing anything!

Other outstanding selections on this album are; Destiny, Live Wire...(very sexy), Into My Dreams, Nobody Move, If You're Ever Gonna Lose My Love, and The Right Time Has Come Now. Jennifer Rush has one of those rare gifted voices with a delivery that matches every inch of her talent. Just go to her web site..(JENNIFER-RUSH.COM) and give a listen.

I especially love the way she pronounces some of the words to the music, and her voice is powerful without being SHRILL. Shall I say.. you'll feel the heat and the beat!! Hope you enjoy!

As my title implies, JENNIFER RUSH was truly underated and underappreciated. The mainstream didn't give her a chance back in the 80's. I think she's finally receiving her just desserts and notoriety in the 2000's; however, she's always had a legion of fans on a sub-pop level.

Every song on this album could've been released as a single. Songs back then were arranged better and had a memorable melody or chorus and her compositions are a testament to that.

Some artists no matter how gifted, will do better commercially outside of the U.S. I believe her music was embraced more by european listeners and probably gay men 100%! So I highly recommend "JENNIFER RUSH"... and remember she is the co-writer of and original artist who recorded "POWER OF LOVE". This woman is a powerhouse; that's probably what inspired two other power-houses in their own right, the late LAURA BRANIGAN(1987; appears on her album "TOUCH") and CELINE DION to do covers of "POWER OF LOVE."

When I first heard Jennifer Rush on cassette in 1988 and it was her "Power of Love" which overwhelmed me, I became 'spoiled' in my acceptance of other attempts to match her vocals. Nana Mouskouri is the only other artist who mesmerized me like Jennifer Rush - now that I have all of her CDs and have had to replace 2 due to excessive use I ask - what happened to this artist? - she is Magnificent!

To have a copy of Jennifer Rush's rendition of "The Power of Love" is truly worth the price of the CD alone, although you'll certainly enjoy other tracks. The song should be called "The Power of Jennifer Rush." Celine Dion took the power of the song, itself, to launch her own career but does NOT match Jennifer's awesome power, emotion, or quality. This is a MUST have for lovers. My wife and I played it at our wedding. It was MAJESTIC.

Fans of Celine Dion's "The Power of Love" should hear this original version on this album. It is so much more soaring than Celine's. (I love Celine too). Jennifer was said to sound like a mix of Laura Branigan and Annie Lennox when this album came out. It quite good.

This album is pure eighties heaven! I grew up on this album, with my mum playing it all the time and it has become ingrained in my consciousness. As soon as the opening bars of `Madonna's Eyes' start I'm transported back to my childhood. This album is synthesizer heavy as you would expect from this era and the songs are catchy as anything. Jennifer Rush's powerful voice shines through on every track and highlights for me are `25 lovers' and `I See A Shadow (Not a Fantasy)', although the whole album is very strong overall. This is a short album by today's standard, but perfectly crafted and although many will buy this for `Power of Love' alone, they may well be surprised by how good the rest is. A great slice of eighties pop/rock from an underrated and overlooked artist. Well worth a try.

Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

I rememember hearing this album when it came out in the 80's when I lived in Germany. I have kept her albums with me over the years and finally replaced them a couple of years back. She sounds so much better with time. I am listening to the album while writing this review. I would put her above all of the so called Diva's of today. She has passion and emotion when singing her songs. My only regret is not seeing her in concert. I hope my children will find her music as enjoyable as I have over the years. Her music brings back many great memories.
