Powerful voice and very sexy.,

I first experienced this exceptional voice with the release of "Jennifer Rush" in l985, which gave the world the best version of Power of Love - which she co-wrote. But, make no mistake, this woman can sing anything!
Other outstanding selections on this album are; Destiny, Live Wire...(very sexy), Into My Dreams, Nobody Move, If You're Ever Gonna Lose My Love, and The Right Time Has Come Now. Jennifer Rush has one of those rare gifted voices with a delivery that matches every inch of her talent. Just go to her web site..(JENNIFER-RUSH.COM) and give a listen. I especially love the way she pronounces some of the words to the music, and her voice is powerful without being SHRILL. Shall I say.. you'll feel the heat and the beat!! Hope you enjoy! LL

Get into Jennifer Rush- this is a good start,
This review is from: Jennifer Rush (Audio CD)
Jennifer Rush-what can I say she has an amazing voice. ThisCD is actually a combination of two of her CD's. She was signed to Sony and released three albums here in the states. She came along before Mariah Carey and Celine Dion- and her voice is better than their's will ever be. Her sound is unique. She lives in New York but is like Madonna in Germany. She is also very big in Europe. She first recorded "The Power Of Love' and it was and still is the biggest selling single in the history of England. Her version is awesome. This CD has dance

Magnificent in its "Power" which should be the album's title,

When I first heard Jennifer Rush on cassette in 1988 and it was her "Power of Love" which overwhelmed me, I became 'spoiled' in my acceptance of other attempts to match her vocals. Nana Mouskouri is the only other artist who mesmerized me like Jennifer Rush - now that I have all of her CDs and have had to replace 2 due to excessive use I ask - what happened to this artist? - she is Magnificent!

"JENNIFER RUSH IS SOOO... UNDERATED!,
By J. A. Freakin' Freestyle (CHICAGO, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jennifer Rush (Audio CD)
As my title implies, JENNIFER RUSH was truly underated and underappreciated. The mainstream didn't give her a chance back in the 80's. I think she's finally receiving her just desserts and notoriety in the 2000's; however, she's always had a legion of fans on a sub-pop level.
Every song on this album could've been released as a single. Songs back then were arranged better and had a memorable melody or chorus and her compositions are a testament to that. Some artists no matter how gifted, will do better commercially outside of the U.S. I believe her music was embraced more by european listeners and probably gay men 100%! So I highly recommend "JENNIFER RUSH"... and remember she is the co-writer of and original artist who recorded "POWER OF LOVE". This woman is a powerhouse; that's probably what inspired two other power-houses in their own right, the late LAURA BRANIGAN(1987; appears on her album "TOUCH") and CELINE DION to do covers of "POWER OF LOVE." -JULIUS ALLAN

Pure Passion,

Jennifer's amazing talent for bringing emotions to life and conveying them through song shines bright on this recording. This stuff stands the test of time - I still love it after a LOT of listening. Jennifer Rush has an incredible, haunting voice.. very emotionally powerful, passionate. This particular recording is a compilation of two of her previous albums: "Jennifer Rush" (released in 1985 I believe) and "Movin'". No bad songs on either of the albums. However, they are fairly hard to get, and thus, this album is a good introduction to her work. Celine Dion made a career from "The Power of Love", and yet Jennifer stays relatively unknown. Considering JR's version speaks to the heart and Celine's pales in comparison, it all makes perfect sense.

Contains the original version of "The Power of Love"!,

Fans of Celine Dion's "The Power of Love" should hear this original version on this album. It is so much more soaring than Celine's. (I love Celine too). Jennifer was said to sound like a mix of Laura Branigan and Annie Lennox when this album came out. It quite good.

This voice I heard in the music store went to my soul. "The power of love" is still one off my most favorite songs. And if you like to hear it soft or very loud it is as pure as the the wind. When i need a lift Jennifer Rush is the lady.

A really powerful voice with excellent timbre and soul,

I heard this recording in a record store when it first came out -- one of the few that I've asked the sales clerk for the title -- bought it on the spot and practically wore it out. I'd give Jennifer Rush's interpretation of The Power of Love a 10 and Celine Dion's a strong 8. Jennifer Rush's version is so much freer and floating.

Why is she not a household word?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Jennifer Rush (Audio CD)
The first time I heard her was some years ago and she was singing "The Power of Love". Awesome - what a voice. I went out and purchased every cassette I could find. This album though is the best - every cut is fabulous. Recently, I've been purchasing every CD I can find. She's every bit as good as Celine Dion - why is she not famously famous and turing out new CD's all the time?
