From School Library Journal
Grade 2-4-- Jenny Archer is back, and this time she plans on being a real live heroine. There's only one problem: she doesn't know how to handle emergencies. With the help of her parents, she learns about safety and rescue treatment and, armed with a first-aid kit, she is ready for anything. When her two-year-old cousin visits, Jenny invents a game called "Accident," and practices her bandaging techniques with disastrous results. Ten short chapters advance the plot and are supplemented by black-and-white drawings. Jenny's actions are realistic and positive as she learns valuable information on first aid and emergency treatment. Readers will identify with the need to be recognized for something they can do and will enjoy her attempts to become someone out of the ordinary. Although not as fast paced as previous books in this transitional series, Conford blends first aid with fun, offering a story that children can read on their own. --Jana R.
