Sad to say there's no track 4! The track listing above claims a song called "summer of 59" is on this ep and I wanted to caution anyone expecting to hear it, it's not there! The other songs are a delight to anyone as fond of the Chaos album as was I. So much so that it was still worth it, but don't say nobody warned ya.

"Jenny Wren" is one of many standout tracks from McCartney's new album CHAOS AND CREATION IN THE BACKYARD. I'm tired of all the critics screaming that "Jenny Wren" is another "Blackbird." It's a darn good track, but I'd rather see this new single stand on its own credentials, which it is more than capable of doing. The lyrics are great and the instrumentation sparse...typical McCartney traits when he does this style of song. Surely one of the finest songs he has written in the last 20 years, and that's no joke.

What's even more impressive, however, are the quality of the McCartney b-sides from this album. "Comfort of Love", the b-side to first single "Fine Line," was a track that was fully realized and surely had to be a candidate for the album's final running order.

The two b-sides found on this single, "I Want You To Fly" and "This Loving Game," are great little tracks. The latter song is definitely a b-side but still very enjoyable, but "I Want You To Fly" could have definitely been the album closer if the song "Anyway" wasn't so strong in and of itself. "I Want You To Fly" definitely has a 'Sgt. Pepper'-like feel in its piano and vocal echoes, and the overall take is very atmospheric and airy---presumably influenced by producer Nigel Godrich, known for working with Beck and Radiohead.

I really enjoyed this and only purchased this single (and the album's first single) because of my complete satisfaction with the album. I'm glad I have all these ace b-sides to add to my playlist now.

I bought this to get song number four, too, and it isn't on it. I would not have purchased this CD if not for the Summer of 59 and it isn't there. Very disappointed Amazon.

I was disappointed too when I found out "Summer of '59" would not be on this release. After all, as an import this CD is quite expensive and obviously the more additional songs, the better. "Summer of '59" is available on McCartney's official site, and it is worth it (though it wouldn't have fit in on the Chaos and Creation album).

As for the song "Jenny Wren" - I wonder if anyone actually bought this single for that song. My guess is that most everyone with even the slightest interest in this release already owns the full album from which it was taken, "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard." That album is simply one of the finest he has ever released.

So that leaves the two non-album tracks as the reason to shell out for this single. I'd say it is worth the money for any serious McCartney fan. "This Loving Game" is an okay song that probably wouldn't have fit in well with the album. It has quite a strong vocal. The real keeper is "I Want You To Fly" - which (as another reviewer here mentioned) could have easily been the closing track on the actual album. It's strong enough to have been a highlight of the album. It's basically two short songs put together. The first part is a slow, sinuous groove - quite unlike the "typical" McCartney sound. McCartney's vocal is extrememly high, sometimes falsetto, and his backing vocals are a great addition to the very stark arrangement. The second part is a faster tempo, with pounding piano and a denser sound. It really is worth hearing.

Though missing the song "Summer of '59" as originally listed (and since removed from track listing) this is a great maxi-single with the heart-tugging acoustic ballad Jenny Wren, and two other non-album songs by Paul McCartney. It also has a bonus of a small poster included. A nice package for Macca fans!

the songs on this cd reminded me of the love songs he and john use to write together.i love these songs very much.

Paul McCartney is the BEST ,the BEST ever...the BEST there ever was ....the BEST there ever will be......ENOUGH SAID..... I enjoy and admire ALL his work.....A GENIUS - a TRUE GENIUS !!!!!!!!!

First, let me say that Chaos And Creation In The Backyard is one of Paul's finest solo recordings. It is one of my favorite albums of the last five years, in any genre. It's a true return-to-form, and a masterpiece for him. The songs on the album are all very heartfelt and a bit sad; you can tell that he was going through some serious personal issues (Heather) at the time. This single is no different.

"This Loving Game" is amazing, and could have arguably been an album track. It would have fit perfectly on the album. It's a very personal song about a failing relationship, and its stripped-down arrangement really lets the singing/lyrics shine. This song is a gem, and enhances the album experience.

"I Want You To Fly" is good, but it doesn't fit with this album at all. It doesn't even sound like it was recorded in the same era as the album. It feels more like an exercise in songwriting/instrumentation than an actual "song" . . . he also does not sound as emotionally invested in this song as he does on the rest of Chaos and This Loving Game. This one is a true B-side.

Overall, a must for any Paul McCartney or Beatles fan.

This CD single is for completists, really. The non-LP tracks are fine but not essential for the less serious collector. Not a complaint, just some perspective.

Another great single from the master, it didn't sell that much because now the best selling singles has to be awful (ah, the singles of the 60's and 80's ...), but thats another story, but it reached at least the 22nd position in english charts. Paul delivers here a great song, with a couple of other good songs. Jenny Wren has a grammy nomination for best male vocalist (just to inform because i think that Grammy sucks just like Oscars do)-
