This Summer I Saw Wizards Battle Till The End. I Saw A Brooklyn Boy Become An American Super Hero and I Saw Apes Begin To Take Over the Planet..Entertaining Yes! Life Changing No. Motivating No. Lasting No. Inspirational No. If You Guys Truly want to see a Film That when you walk away, you wont look ,feel or judge your life the same way again. This is That Film! If Oprah was still on air Jens would be across from her being interviewed, yes its that type of emotional imp-actual soul stirring film. You don't have to like MMA to get this Film. You don't have to know Jen to get this Film, but in the end you will want to know him. It Really Is This Summers Hidden Treasure!!

without shedding a tear. You will be fighting back the tears when you watch this.

I can't remember when the last time a movie got me choked up. "Little Evil" was one of my favorite fighters back in the day, #1 because he was a wrestler and #2 he was an F.N. savage in the ring. Pulver was one of the pioneers of ground and pound.

Pulver's story is nothing new: growing up dirt poor; abusive, alcoholic father; finds talent in a sport; then realizes that talent is all he'll ever be able to do; and then his career is over. It's Pulver's delivery that makes it stand out. Although his words are simple, they are geniune and honest and heavy.

I recommend this not only to MMA fans, but to everyone.

Not to say that this the end all be all, but it is.

Jens could be an insurance agent, or a banker, or any working man.

This movie destroyed me.

I am glad that it slapped me around, and I am blessed that I watched it.

I recommend with 5 stars.

No Spoilers.

-Best Wishes!

Oddly enough, I read the previous 5 reviews before even clicking to watch the trailor....after reading those reviews I couldn't hit the instant rent/purchase button quick enough. The first 5 reviews of this film absolutely nailed anything I could touch on, but I will say that this is one powerful film.

Inspirational docs are my favorite films for as long as I can remember. When they connect, it's on such a deeper level than any other type of film out there I've found, and the overall enjoyment one receives after watching one goes well beyond just the entertainment value of it.

Lastly, never been a follower of MMA, even though I've enjoyed the fights I've occasionally seen on tv over the years.

Just like when I watched the awesome doc. Anderson Silva: Like Water a little while back, and had no clue who the guy was even on a professional level (fighting career, I had even less of a clue who Jens Pulver was. I think not knowing anything prior to watching them really added big time to my overall satisfaction level upon viewing the. These movie made me way more emotional than Anderson's film, but ultimately the ending of Like Water put it into my epic category.

Never out and out cried at any one time while watching it, but it had my eyes watery for 2/3rds of it easily.

In summery, the $3.99 instant rental price was a bargain to say the least....and Jens Pulver is one amazing man and warrior.

I recall Jens as a coach from the UFC-affiliated Ultimate Fighter reality show. In that show, he was a cocky, fiery guy. Unrefined, difficult to like, and obnoxious. In "Driven", however, you get an unprecedented look into the person behind the fighter. The viewer gets to understand the spark behind the fire.

This documentary is a terrific glimpse into life. Not just the life of a fighter, but life in general. Despite a difficult childhood, he stuck with his one outlet, and is portrayed past his peak as an MMA fighter. His brutally honest discussion of his life is exemplary. It shows that real men feel and real men struggle. He approaches his life with truth and without fear.

While I would have loved some fight footage, the buildup was solid. This is not an exciting documentary, but the viewer is so effectively wrapped up in Jens' life and struggle, while maintaining an incredibly affable nature, that one truly pulls for the guy - in and out of the ring. It is a terrific lesson on commitment to one's purpose and faith in oneself. Overall, this is about being comfortable in one's own skin, despite all the ugliness that comes along with it. You simply can't get more real than Jens Pulver.
