4.0 out of 5 stars Best for the money you pay
I'll just cut to the chase:
Pros: Cheap; great audio quality; the easiest search song functions; the random function is in deed an ALL song random function; includes AC/DC adapter (not everyone does, watchout).
Cons: Lousy headphones (comfort & audio quality); ESP (Antiskip) works only in regular CD's (not MP3's); if your MP3 CD surpasses 130 songs it won't read...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fairly cool
I like the anti-skip.
MP3 support is what I was after.
It works OK, but skips now and then while decoding MP3.
I like the display showing title and artist, if listed.

I expected better MP3 decoding.......

Cons: Lousy headphones (comfort & audio quality); ESP (Antiskip) works only in regular CD's (not MP3's); if your MP3 CD surpasses 130 songs it won't read the 131 and so on; the open/close device is very insecure, for it can be opened very easily during playback if you're not cautious.

The veredict: Worth for the money you pay. It does the task. It won't dissapoint you.

3.0 out of 5 stars PLEASE GIVE BETTER SPECIFICATIONS, July 5, 2002

This review is from: Jensen CDMP-345 MP3-Compatible Portable CD Player (Electronics)
We are not going to buy these products if you don't publish proper specifications. After bad experiences with opther CD MP3 players, we ALL want toknow more about these devices before plonking down our hard-earned money. What are the specs. on frequency response? What accessories come with it?

And MOST importantly, WHAT types of MP3 files will it decode?
Can it handle VBR files? Can it handle 320Kbps files? How about 48 and 32 kbps files?

4.0 out of 5 stars Specifications, August 13, 2002

This review is from: Jensen CDMP-345 MP3-Compatible Portable CD Player (Electronics)
Model CDMP445
45 second anti-skip

MPEG rate 32-384Kbps
sampling 8-48KHz
MPEG 1/2/2.5 Layer 2/3
MP3 playback ISO9660 format compatible
Maximum file support Album (Director) 99, File (Track) 300

Verbatim DataLifePlus 2X-4X CDRW okay
Imation 4X-10X CDRW failed to play DISC error

In my limited experience with stand-alone players, this Jensen is better than most Memorex MP3 players. It doesn't skip with my CDRs (even old discs from 1997! when MP3 encoding on a Cyrix 166 took up to 30 minutes PER SONG with the old Franhauffer encoder), although I encoded and tested only in 128Kbps.

2.0 out of 5 stars ehh., November 15, 2002
This review is from: Jensen CDMP-345 MP3-Compatible Portable CD Player (Electronics)
it was ok.
I have had this for a while now and have concluded that this is fine for sitting on a desk or sitting on the dash board of a car (with good shocks on a paved road; at ten mph or less).
But anything else will just kill it. I am very careful with my electronics and the top half fell off in about 10 trips to school. And the interface, along with the Mp3 option didn't seem to work very well. but it's o.k I don't sugget this if you actually like to listen to music

2.0 out of 5 stars Skips way too much, July 12, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Jensen CDMP-345 MP3-Compatible Portable CD Player (Electronics)
I bought this about half a year back, and have found that it skips a little too much when playing MP3s. Sometimes I can't even listen to songs because it is always skipping. As far as playing normal CD's it seems to handle it well.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Jensen CDMP-345 MP3-Compatible Portable CD Player (Electronics)
I have a problem with this cd player. The problem its that my cd player "burns" battery literally. I put a pair of "AA" battery and in a half of hour it appears "Low Battery". Why???, and also I was searching for how much time does the battery offers and I couldn't find anything...

Great Product. Good production from a less expensive product. I have had no problems whatsoever with skipping, or MP3/MP3 CD files it wont play. The sound quality is excellent. Highly recommend, a five star ranking all the way ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars MP3 Player for a Great Price, September 21, 2002
This review is from: Jensen CDMP-345 MP3-Compatible Portable CD Player (Electronics)
This mp3 player is excellent for anyone who wants to listen to their entire music collection on just a few simply made CD's. When you create an Mp3 disc RecordNow is an great for making the mp3 format discs. After you have selected every song on your computer, just burn them to the CDR and whalllaaahhh.

Good Quality Mp3's have a filesize of about 1.0 megabytes per minute of music. An mp3 cd that I made for my friend had 275 songs which was about 680 minutes of music.

Here's how you can calculate how many regular Cd's you can fit on an mp3 formated disc:

Number of minutes of music on a regular CD X 1 = space in MB taken up on the CD

So if your average Cd is 50 minutes long you can fit 13 of your reugalar CD's onto one disc to play forever on this player.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Bottom LINE 680-700 minutes of music on one disc
Equivalent to 11 hours of music Yeaaaaaahhhhhh
