5.0 out of 5 stars Good Price, Good Quality
Now of coarse your thinking well for 5 dollars how good can this thing be? Well I bought it(due to lack of funds) but amazingly I love it! For 5 dollars this is one deal you can't beat especially with the portable volume control feature. It isn't a perfect fit but the deep bass and clear music make up for that by far. So if you are not sure to buy an expensive set...

1.0 out of 5 stars Jensen JM10 review
I find the build quality, the comfort level, and the fit to be very good at this price. The sound of the JM10 however, is absolutely unfit for human listening. Listening to them on my Panasonic Shockwave walkman, the sound output is so weak, you could barely tell they are working. I have never encountered any headphones in my life that were this weak in sound output...

I find the build quality, the comfort level, and the fit to be very good at this price. The sound of the JM10 however, is absolutely unfit for human listening. Listening to them on my Panasonic Shockwave walkman, the sound output is so weak, you could barely tell they are working. I have never encountered any headphones in my life that were this weak in sound output. As such, 5 dollars or not, it's money wasted, as I find they are not fit for the purpose they are designed for, namely portable stereos. I am shocked that Recoton would release a product as poor as this on the market, because it reflects poorly of their entire line. Had the JM10's been my first Jensen headphone, I would never have wanted to listen to or purchas anything else from this company.

However, I had previously heard the JM15's (backphone model), and was quite impressed by them, finding them better than any other I've heard in their price range, and they happen to retail at the same price as the JM10's (although I far prefer the headband design on the JM10's).

When listening to the JM15's 2 minutes after hearing the JM10's on the very same walkman with the very same tape/song, the output of the JM15's are more than loud enough, and the sound quality is immensely better than the JM10's at any volume; despite the fact that the JM10 has larger drivers than the JM15. So there is indeed a problem with the design of the Jensen JM10's. I also tried listening to them on a stereo system, found I had to crank the amp up tremendously, and what I did hear had no bass to speak of, more distortion than music in the midrange, and tinny highs. A complete dud, and I'm only glad I was able to return them.

For 5 bucks! What a great deal. I use my Jensen headphones with my MP3 player and it sound just as good as my Sony $50 headphones. Also the volume and on/off control is a pretty good feature. I don't know what everyone is talking about when they say the sound seems far away. Maybe you have poor volume control on your unit itself. The structure of the headphones is pretty good also. They are nice and durable. I almost didn't buy these phones because I didn't think I could get a good pair for $5, but now I am happy I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent value., January 21, 2000

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jensen JM10 Headphone with Swivel Cups and V.C. (Electronics)
Unbelievable price, good quality construction, lightweight and well balanced, long cord off only one side, average to good fit, good adjustability, fair to average comfort after prolonged use.

Sound quality: Boomy bass with considerable but tolerable distortion. High end can be irritating at higher volumes. Does best at low to medium volume in a quiet room, although it can go loud enough to drown out a noisy room, but then your ears hurt. Does not accept higher wattage that well -- noticeable distortion increase. Overall: average.

If you want excellent quality sound, you certainly won't get it for five bucks (get real), but considering this thing costs less than a hamburger meal at a fast food joint, and you can do much worse for phones bought at retail outlets at 3 to 5 times the price, I consider this unit a steal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jensen JM10 Headphones, July 28, 2000

Recently, I purchased a Jensen Portable CD Player. Not being accustomed to portable sound equipment, the company Jensen was not familiar to me. However, it was very reasonably priced, and I was very pleased. With my newfound appreciation for Jensen, I ventured to purchase a set of headphones (while satisfactory, the headphones that came w/ my player broke rather quickly). Upon a search at Amazon.com, I discovered a cheap pair of Jensen headphones. Not expecting much, but encouraged by other reviews, I bought them. My amazment at the quality of these headphones continues even today. This, w/out a doubt, is the most inexpensive quality pair of phones I have ever had the pleasure of buying. (The only downsides I can report are that the cord is a bit too long to comfortably manage.)

In conclusion, this is a must buy for portable sound enthusiasts looking for an inexpensive, quality headphones.

The Jenson headphone is high quality economicalal investment that makes a great upgrade for the inferior ones that comes with every music player. It handles bass very well, is comfortable, and has a generousely lenghted cord. Their is also a handy volume control located about 2 feet down from the earpiece that has an on/off switch as well. The over-the-head piece is made of soft robber that dosen't pull at your hair and bends nicely. The only downside, I feel, is the fact that the earpieces often do not fit copmpletely adjecent to the ear robbing you of some potencial volume. Other than that, the Jenson JM10 Headphone is the best bang-for-the-buck on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product for the bucks!@, June 27, 2000

I was rather surprised with this product. I was just expecting a cheap pair of headphones for me to use in my language class. However, I'm pleased with the audio output capabilities, especially for being so inexpensive. I like that you can adjust the volume in two places (on the stereo/walkman and on the headset), and I like that you can turn the headphones off without stopping the music. Very convenient! Nice long cord too. The headset part that connects the two earphones is rubber, which is good because the headphones stay in place better. This has pretty good punch when it comes to bass too, which is good since I listen to lots of techno. Great product for a great price!

5.0 out of 5 stars These headphones fold FLAT and fit in my briefcase, April 11, 2001

I can't understand how Jensen delivers such a high qualityproduct for just a low price. The bass is most impressive, with the right amount of thump without overpowering other sounds. The earpads are comfortable enough for extended listening, and the adjustable headband is nice and substantial - not one of those thin metal bands you usually find on "budget" headphones. The long single cord is another plus - much more comfortable and convenient than headphones that have an under-chin yolk style cord. Volume control is also conveniently placed. I definitely don't feel like I'm compromising on sound quality when I listen to my favorite CDs on these headphones.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOW I'M KINDA P!SSED OFF!!!, March 11, 2005

This review is from: Jensen JM10 Headphone with Swivel Cups and V.C. (Electronics)
I AM REALLY UPSET WITH THESE. NOTHING REALLY ON THESE HEADPHONES ARE PROS. THEY ARE MOSTLY ALL CONS

Pros:
- Volume remote...which doesn't even help peak volume anyway, so this really isn't a pro.

Cons:
- These are some of the most QUIET HEADPHONES I'VE EVER USED IN ANY OF MY PLAYERS! The impedance is 32 ohms, one of the worst impedances you can get.
- There is SMALL BASS ON THESE! The bass is completely bloated and tinny.
- The treble is IN A TUNNEL??? Honestly, is there a long tube in between these.
- These have HORRIBLE COMFORT. The rubber headband makes them extremely oversized.
- These are NOT DURABLE! Every single pair of these broke in the same space, with good care. The left side of the earcup, which features the right side's cord.
- If there not durable, they are NOT PORTABLE EITHER. Sure, they fold up, but that's all the portability you'll get out of them. They break, one in my backpack, one putting them on the way I always do, the headband on my head, and the speakers correctly on the ear.

SO YEAH! I'M KINDA MAD, EVEN THOUGH I'M GETTING MY $$ BACK. THE FACT THAT THESE HEADPHONES HAVE BAD SOUND, COMFORT, DURABILITY, AND PORTABILITY, WHY ON EARTH WOULD I GIVE THESE A GOOD RATING??? THEY ARE WASTING ABOUT A WEEK OF MY LIFE. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY FROM JENSEN.
