Good microphone for the price,

I wanted a microphone which would work with voice recognition software. The advertising said that this microphone was, "ideal for voice recording, voice recognition software or telephony over the internet." Ideal is not the word I'd use.I tested the microphone with the voice recognition software. It came back with a below average rating and a warning that the voice recognition software might not work well with it. In many cases, low quality voice recognition is worse than no voice recognition at all. Often I'll have to undo what the computer thought I told it to do. They say that a computer only does what you tell it to do. If the microphone does not clearly hear what you are saying, it will take a guess. The bottom line is that for voice recognition, a higher quality microphone is needed. In a pinch if your keyboard and mouse were inoperative you might be able to make the voice recognition software work using this microphone. Personally I'd just turn off the computer.

Terrible Quality,

I bought this microphone thinking that it wouldn't be possible to waste only $2.99 on anything. I was horribly wrong. I plugged in the Jensen microphone and tried to record with it, but its quality was so awful that the sound was barely recognizable.

Great for the money,

I bought this mic with some spare money on my e-card and thought it would be very poor. I was wrong. For the money this mic was high quality and very compact. It is great for chat programs that allow talking with mics and also good for talking with PC cameras.

The quality of sound recorded is poor because recordings done with the mic have a background hissing noise. It's a good deal for a few dollars but if you're looking for a quality microphone, you're better off looking for another product.

We used it with this voice e-mail program called TalkSender.com It worked just fine with it... I wouldn't use it for voice recognition, but with Talksender, I didn't need the voice recog anymore cos I was sending voice emails instead.

I bought this microphone to record live music and also to record my own music. In the past I used the built-in mic in my mini tape recorder, but there was always a background hiss, and if I didn't have my recorder right near the source it sounded poor. Since the Jensen mic is so cheap I bought it instead of the "earbuds" I was going to buy (which would have done the job, but they aren't meant for taking IN sound). Don't let the price fool you, this microphone is EXCELLENT. 95 percent of the hiss during silence is gone, and during music there is no hiss. Everything sounds clear. It even picks up the sound of me quietly humming all the way across the room. Not many cheap mics can do that. Plus it clips on to almost anything. A very worthy investment.

Recently i bought a SONY portable recorder. To test it out, i took it to my school to record my professors lecture.Without using this microphone, the recording was good, but when i plugged in this microphone to the jack and rerecorded, the results were outstanding.Very good quality at a very affordable price.

How can you beat the price on this microphone? Quality is fine and I haven't had any problems with it.
