I wanted to replace the 10 year old houseing I had so I searched around and could not find a cheaper houseing then right here on Amazon. What Impressed me was Is I didnt have to cut all the radio wireing again and pass is through the new houseing. The top is off when it arrives and all that needs to be done is for you to insert the radio and feed the wires through the back wire feed on the back of the houseing. Next just screw the top back together with the bottom and mount the legs. I personally like the extra pocket on the side, I have a slim cell phone that fits perfect right in there.
Going to place order for an AM/FM antenna now :-)

After purchasing the Pyle PLMRCB3 enclosure which failed comprehensively the first day, I bought this unit. Superior design in every way. Installation was a no-brainer. Well built. I have little fear that the hinge for the face plate will break like the useless Pyle unit did. If you are comparing these two units, spend the extra $5 and get the Jensen. You won't regret it.

I installed this under the console of a new flat bottom boat. My main complaint is the price of the unit and the door is a bit tricky to open and shut. I do not mind that much, as it keeps the kids from messing with it. Also, the side pocket could be a little deeper, seems like it is only half the depth it could be.
It kept the rain out of the stereo in the monsoon we went through on the last fishing trip, so I am pleased with my purchase.

I was a little disappointed in the product. The supplied hardware could have been better. The Rubber piece wasn't rubber at all, it was hard nylon. The short screws provided were in fact too short to do a proper job, I replaced them with longer ones.
I would like to see the design be changed to route the cables out of the back up or down. The currently only route down which is fine for a on dash install but not so good for a under dash install. It should do it's main job well and that is to protect the radio.

This enclosure works great. I was going to buy the pyle version but bad reviews about broken face covers scared me away. I spent the extra bucks and got this one and am very satisfied so far.

I bought the Pyle and now it is going to the land fill...it worked but my son accidentally broke one of the little nubs/axles that hold the face cover on before it was even mounted...so I had a unit whose face was open to the elements.
Terrible faceplate design, the Pyle is definitely sealed better on the back of the unit but since the face-cover is so fragile and broke before I got it installed, it doesn't matter...ended up covering the front with a plastic bag to keep the rain off... The Jensen is not industrial grade, (see plastic) but if you are looking for a splash resistant cover for your marine stereo to mount to a dash...it works much better... Forget mounting it on the side of a console where it will be bumped by passer-byes...I just don't think it could last long there. Another "better idea" on the Jensen is the little pocket inside for your ipod...keeping it dry and out of sight. Ipod is the way to go on a boat. A big difference between the two is the faceplate hinges and mounts to the bottom of the unit vs. the Pyle's top hinged...seems as thought this might be easier access when using your unit but I can see where it could be left open. So far this has not been a problem...easier to install than the Pyle too..actually came with a template for mounting...top cover just comes off, drop the unit in and hook up the wiring put the top back on....and as they say, "turn it up"

I bought the gimbal stereo holder for a center console fishing boat in order to place the unit inside the cockpit. It fit well and was easy to install and is just what I needed. The door of the unit is hard to open, at least when new so I took it off and are using it doorless which is fine as it is protected inside the cockpit. An excellent product that was just what I needed.
