2.0 out of 5 stars Unit Didn't Work, January 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jensen VM9423 Double DIN 6.5 Touchscreen Multimedia System (Electronics)
I was drawn by the low price tag with the features packed into this unit. Once I installed this unit, the unit would not load a DVD/CD. So, did a little research to try to diagnose the problem and discovered that Jensen isn't that great of a brand. Couldn't get the DVD/CD to work, so I return the item. If you decide to buy the unit, one thing that you should do is add about a half inch or so to the depth of the unit. The unit has about 18 wires hardwired into the back left. In order to not bend the wires, it would be wise to ensure that there is more clearance for these wires. The installation manual is available at Jensen's web site so you can see what I'm talking about.

3.0 out of 5 stars does not sync address book properly, November 16, 2009
This review is from: Jensen VM9423 Double DIN 6.5 Touchscreen Multimedia System (Electronics)
This isn't a bad unit, although the interface is a bit on the ugly side. However, there is one serious technical issue you should be aware of if you plan to purchase the bluetooth adapter with this unit. Although advertised and described in the manual as supporting HFP (Hands Free Profile) to allow address book synchronization with bluetooth phones, this feature DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY on many phones, including the iPhone. (Technical support claims this is an issue with the phone; however, I've properly sync the address book with Alpine and other head units without any issues, so this is simply not true). The issue was brought to the attention of Jensen's technical services and they've specifically decided that they have no intention of fixing the issue now or in the future. If bluetooth synchronization is important to you, DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT.

1.0 out of 5 stars DONT DO IT TO YOURSELF!, April 17, 2011
This review is from: Jensen VM9423 Double DIN 6.5 Touchscreen Multimedia System (Electronics)
This is by far the cheapest made unit I had ever seen. I have returned the head unit twice and working on #3. The DVD player did not work on the first unit. The second unit they sent to me had a bad RCA jack and sent a loud whine through the speakers and once again, the DVD player stopped working on this unit. You have to remove the head unit and sent it back to the factory for trouble shooting. While the unit is out, you have no radio in your vehicle. DO NOT buy this brand! It is nothing but a headache and the costomer service at Jensen is shady at best. Pay the extra couple bucks and get a Sony, Alpine or Kenwood. Hard lesson learned, Thanks alot Jensen!
