How the Press Works
Just raise the lever arms and your Corby press will open wide to reveal the heating pad. This pad is cushioned to accept different fabric thickness and raised seams. At the base of the pad there is a 75mm deep section which adjusts automatically to accommodate the extra thickness of turn-ups and hems; this ensures an even pressure over the whole area of the trousers. Insert your trousers feet first into the base of the press. Smooth them into position, ensuring the existing creases are in line. As you close the press your trousers will be gently held at the feet.
Firmly grip the top of your trousers, gently pulling while you close the press. Push down on one of the lever arms to lock into position. If you look to the top of the frontboard, you will see one of the pair of ribbed stretcher bars, which meet and lock into an upright position just as you finally close the press. The action of these stretcher bars gently grips and pulls trousers back into shape, effectively removing those unsightly back-of-knee wrinkles that can spoil the appearance of your trousers. These stretcher bars are essential to the design of a good trouser press and are unique to Corby. You can safely leave your trousers in the press until they are next required or until you wish to use the press again. The material will retain the creases for longer if you allow the trousers to cool before wearing.

I bought this when it was one of the deals of the day at night. It's pretty simple. You have 2 choices 15 min or 30 min press. You can also cancel them anytime after you've started it. If you have the room this is awesome. I love the coat hanger aspect so I can put my jacket on it at the end of the day. This is good for the jacket to "air" out, rather than putting it right back in the closet. This generally works best with normal slacks. Even khaki type of pants work well but not as good as the slacks. It especially gets the wrinkles from behind your knees out. I really hate those wrinkles.

This product is easy to set up and easy to use. It does a GREAT job. Heavily-wrinkled slacks will need 2 30-minute pressings. Considering the price savings for this model versus other models with a 60-minute option, I am more than willing to press the on button twice! This press has already saved me trips to and the expense of the dry cleaner. I highly recommend it.

Glad I bought this unit overall.,

I am really quite torn about what I think of my new Corby press. I have now pressed about 30 pairs of dress pants and 6 pairs of khakis. I wear a suit to work everyday and a clean press is important to me having used dry cleaners for years.on the plus side, I hate manually ironing pants; and simply dropping pants into this unit and just pressing a button does make things easier. I am happy with my unit overall, and I got it at a great deal on amazon, but I would never pay full price for this. Pressing pants at a dry cleaners for a few bucks or with a heavy iron with starch chemicals gives you a clean press which can last for weeks. Also, if you have the space for a dedicated ironing setup, I would go this route instead. Overall the output of this press seems good, but the length of time the press lasts when worn, after a 30 minute press, even if you remove the pants well after they cool as recommended, is for a very short time. The clean pressed output is gone by lunch since no chemicals can be used between the press plates. Notes on pants size limitations: Something I couldn't seem to find even in the manual, are the sizes of pants these units can press in one pass. Having purchased the 4400 unit now, I can say that this unit will only be able to press, in one pass, pants which are a maximum size of: In-seem = 30 inches Waist = 38 inches If you are over 6 feet tall and exceed any of these numbers, you may have a hard time getting this unit to swallow your pants in one press. This seems like a problem since a lot of folks are larger than this. Having to maneuver large pants to get a full press in more than once pass, each position lasting 30 minutes, defeats the purpose of this product. I have also noticed I need to press my khaki pants twice to get any lasting effects. I just run the unit twice without removing the pants. Still without starch, the press only lasts a few hours on khaki pants. Question: Can anyone comment if this unit is supposed to get hot all throughout the pressing surface from top to bottom? I find that my unit only gets hot around the top and middle of the press length. The bottom does not get hot at all and I am wondering if my heating element is defective?
