The good things about this are its overall design and useability, the size and quality of the mirrors including the choice of magnification on the magnifier side, and the quality and sturdiness and finish of the mounting bracket and articulated arm.

One thing that was just OK was the quality of the plastic frame around the glass including its little trunions or pegs by which the metal bracket holds it. These pegs look pretty small and I am afraid they will break. They have little acorn-nut-shaped covers pressed over them to keep the pegs from popping out of the metal bracket, but one of these covers was loose in the box when I received it. I glued it on with general purpose pipe cement, which seems to be holding, but I was surprised how small the pegs are and how weak the method of retaining the covers appeared. I also regret that it didn't occur to me to shim the one cover outward a tiny bit before gluing it, because now it has no intentional clearance and might be susceptable to prying off by the bracket arm.

The other thing that was just OK was the method of attaching the U shaped metal bracket to the vertical rod at the mirror end of the arm. It is screwed on, and has a tiny setscrew to lock it. I have tried holding the vertical rod in pliers padded with paper while tightening the bracket onto the rod, and then tightening that setscrew with its tiny hex key until I thought I'd strip the key out of it, but it still works loose pretty quickly. Now I try to remember to pivot the mirror only in the tightening direction, turning it almost a full turn to adjust it the other way, and if I can find the Locktite I will try that.

I am pleased enough with this, and do not regret purchasing it, not having found anything preferable. I certainly think the price is fine. The problems I found aren't the sort of thing for which one could request repair or replacement, because they are really design issues, and these two weaknesses are annoying.

This mirror works great. There are very few accordion mirrors, and most of
them are magnified on both sides. In order to look at the mirror into another mirror (let's say to see the back of your hair while styling it) you need a regular mirror. This does have one side regular and one side magnified--it is perfect.

This mirror is great! The rectrangular mirror is good and big, you can see the whole back of your head. The magnifying side is great for doing eyes and putting in contacts. The accordion is nice and strong.
