This review is from: Jerdon First Class 1600W Dual Voltage Hair Dryer (Health and Beauty)
A few years ago, I used a First Class hair dryer that was provided in the Marriott Hotel and loved it. When I got home, I found this one on Amazon and ordered it. I love this hair dryer! I use it all the time - not just when traveling. It's light-weight so my arms don't get tired, and it blow dries my short haircut very quickly - about 5 mins with styling. I also like that it doesn't have that long blower on it which is harder for me to use for some reason. I saw the review about it not working right in Spain, but I was very pleased with how it worked in Greece. There is a screwlike switch you have to turn for European voltage and I wonder if the previous reviewer did not realize this? When the hair dryer is set to European voltage, there is only one speed (high), instead of the usual high and low, and I was pleasantly surprised that the hair dryer worked perfectly in Greece, just as it did at home - same strength and heat. The only maintenance was to clean the filter with an old toothbrush once in awhile as it would get covered with lint from hair products I use and then the dryer would overheat - but this is something I have to do with any hairdryer I purchase. After being used everyday for about three years, it's starting to sound as if the motor is going and so I'm back to buy another one. My daughter tried mine and liked it so much, she got one also. We both prefer this hairdryer to many other more expensive ones we've tried through the years. I highly recommend this hairdryer!

Jerdon 1600w hair dryer,

I first tried this hair dryer on vacation and thought it was great because it was small and delivered the power I needed. Now, I don't have to hold heavy blow dryers twice the size to do my hair. I love it.

I bought this hair dryer because I needed a dual voltage dryer to bring on my study abroad trip to Spain. This hair dryer worked when using the outlet in Spain but not for long. It would start drying then stop. I wouldn't even use it for long. I guess the dryer couldn't handle the power t=for too long and I'd have to wait until I could use it again when it cooled off. Also when on the hi setting, it isn't nearly high enough for me to dry my hair efficiently. Maybe if you have thin hair this would be the hair dryer for you.

I purchased this because it was dual voltage and traveled to South America with it. For a month. The second time I used it there it completely died. I left it in Bolivia and I slept with wet hair for the remainder of my MONTH LONG TRIP. Had I not tossed this piece of dead weight in my pack, I would be returning it.

Bought for a trip to France & Spain. Worked great with a cheap international adapter - NOT a VOLTAGE CONVERTER! A lot of power in a little hair dryer. Be sure to read the directions and be sure to change the voltage and only use on high when out of the U.S.

I discovered this hair dryer at a motel and liked it. (I liked the motel, too.) I've "always" wanted a small dryer for travel; it's probably half the volume and weight of the Conair I use at home. While it's neither as powerful nor as quiet, it's plenty adequate. It has two power/temperature settings, which is a nice feature. While the handle does not fold, it's not a detriment when packed in a suitcase.

I bought this dryer for a trip to Ireland because my usual high end T3 ceramic/tourmaline professional hair dryer wasn't designed to be used overseas. I didn't want to spend $100+ on a tourmaline ceramic travel dryer, and hesitantly purchased this one based off of all the great reviews. It worked great. I have thick, baby fine, mid back length hair, and it dried my hair just fine without a lot of frizz like I was expecting. Another plus, the low setting wasn't too low, and the high setting didn't blow your hair around like a cyclone. Took a little longer than my professional dryer, but then again, I would expect it to. The dual voltage meant that I didn't have to use a power converter, all I needed was the adapter. It never lost power, and worked flawlessly. I highly recommend this dryer to anyone looking for a reliable travel dryer. I can't say how long it will work as I've only used it for my 10 day trip, but there isn't anything that makes me believe that it wouldn't work great for my next travels. Buy with confidence.

I stayed at a hotel that had these hair dryers. I liked it so much that I wrote down the name and looked it up. It is small, yet powerful, and not quite as noisy as my previous, powerful dryer. Not disappointed so far.

I ordered 2 of these dryers and both were defective. The directions say to "use the appropriate tool" to change voltage, but there is no tool. It is impossible to get the dial to change position. I had to return both original and replacement dryer.

We first used this hairdryer at a Marriott we were staying at, and loved it. So we researched it and found it online and ordered it. We have loved it! It is very light weight, yet packs plenty of power. Best hairdryer we have ever used.
