Not so portable bonnet dryer,

The look of this bonnet dryer is great, the price is right, and the bonnet is large enough to cover a head full of jumbo rollers. The flaw is in the design of the hose and the cord. Both pieces attach to the unit in such a way as to make closing the cover impossible. If the flexible hose and cord had been attached to the outside and allowed to recess into their respective spaces from that point, the cover could be closed and the user could walk around and do other things while drying the hair. Bonnet dryers take longer to dry hair than hand-held blow dryers -- it can take up to an hour to dry long, thick hair wrapped around medium rollers for a curly look. Thus, the need for portability. However, they can be used for conditioning treatments and have a gentler effect on the hair. Better choices are the Vidal Sassoon Soft Bonnet Dryer (about $29.00) and the Hot Tools Soft Bonnet Hair Dryer, Model 1051. The latter is more expensive at $45; however, I believe that it is also the most powerful. You get what you pay for. Finally, for treatments and dyeing, users of blow dryers can buy bonnet attachments with elasticized extensions that slip over the nozzle end of the blow dryer. They range from $10-$15.

Impossible Bonnet,

Only Marge Simpson could possibly accommodate this out-sized hair bonnet. Material was stiff and edges cut into one's neck. Also almost impossible to stuff back into designated compartment.Too bad; in theory the unit was just what I needed.

Looks Cute, But Not Functional,

When I saw this dryer I thought it was cute. When I received it I found out that the bonnet ties around your neck. It never tied close enough to my head. Then when I turned on the dryer, I didn't feel any air. I had to pull apart the sides of the bonnet to let the air circulate. The bonnet is made of a harder plastic than your normal bonnets. Then when it was time to put the dryer away, I couldn't get the hose and the cord to fit back in it's compact area. Hardly no space for it to fit.

I like everything about this product. It is easy to use and takes up little storage space. However the hood is way too big, unless of course you are drying your Polar bear's hair!

Jerdon Soft Cap Hair Dryer,
This review is from: Jerdon JSBD4 Soft Bonnet Hair Dryer (Health and Beauty)
It does takes about 10 minutes longer to dry my hair then what was referenced in the instructions mannual for the length of my hair and size of the curlers used. It would be wonderful if the force of the air coming from the unit could be improved. The size of the hose could be longer. There is very little ability to move around because the hose is too short once you are seated in a regular chair and have placed the unit on a table. BUT---It is more gentle on my hair than a curling iron and I have both hands free to put on my make-up, lotion my feet, put oil on my cuticles... while my hair is drying. It is also helpful to heat the soft cap before putting the cap on.

This Dryer sucks...,

It is not very powerful. The air does not circulate well and the hose is short. I was never able to fit the bonnet, hose and cord in the tiny carry area. And it died after about 10 uses.

My wife used several soft bonnet dryers over the years...but this one is yet the best. Nice appearance, sturdy bunnet, plenty of heath and very quiet. PS. Price is very nice too!

This was impossible to get in and out of the case, and the heat was never distributed evenly. Couldn't use it.
