Looking at the cover of this new CD, I was expecting another power symphonic metal album with female vocals, and listening to the music, i was surprised to hear the complexity and the splendor of the music. Most of the song start like a movie soundtrack and the beginning of the CD let you perplexed when you hear a disco groove from the old days, but it's just a short intrusion before the progressive metal take over. There is plenty of symphonic and classical arrangements, here, but the vocals are also a real treat on this CD. The female vocals and male vocals are interchanging each others to give you a rock opera feel. There is some vocal part taken from Pain of Salvation book. Some jazz piano lines contrast the heavy riffs guitar parts. The female vocals are more present further in the CD. We have many tempo changes throughout this long 80 minutes epic CD, and many influences from some big names in the progressive rock world : (Haken, Dream Theater and Neil Morse). A very impressive CD that may have take a lot of hours to do, because of the complexity of the music and arrangements, but the most important is that it's something very enjoyable to hear for progressive rock fans.

I love this album! It is so good and elaborate. For lovers of prog rock music this is a must have, please give it a listen, you won't be disappointed. The mix amazing, you can hear all the instruments in their own space as the keyboards and strings drip layer after layer of atmosphere and lovely melodies. Guitars crunch riffs and percussive notes every now and then on the heavier parts, but at the same time you'll get beautiful solos during the most epic moments. Overall, the melodies are reminiscent of Neal Morse masterpieces but with their own character.

This is a truly special album, It has certain vibe to it that shows bits and pieces of the prog sound that we know today, with a cinematic like quality and elaboration. When you listen to it, you feel that this album was written with a purpose. It doesn't tire you with endless fast paced runs of complexity; instead it takes you down a journey with emotional peaks and valleys that at the conclusion will leave a sense of fulfillment.

Wow! What a wonderful ride.
Rock Yours and the other reviewers have nailed it. It is a magnificent piece of work. There is rock, prog (of course) jazz, some theatre music, pop, etc.
Now, a fabulous dessert combination for me is NY Cheese Cake with champagne and then slip on the
headphones and Circle of Illusion and you are in heaven.
This is a remarkable work. If your taste in music goes at least beyond the top 10, then this is the right dessert for you.

This is one of the most incredible albums I have ever heard, and also one of the strangest. It fits into the prog/rock metal genre, which can be fairly strange, depending on the band. This band is beyond strange. In one song, you'll get metal, jazz, 70's funk/disco, and vocals by three different singers.

The musicianship is outstanding from this Austrian band. The vocals are good to rather good (and are in English). Two female vocalists and one male. Some of the songs are great, but some are quite a challenge to listen to, and not in an especially good way.

I found myself at times getting frustrated. I'd be grooving along, and then suddenly there'd be another Abba-like intrusion "yeah yeah yeah yeaaaaah!" Gosh that got old! Actually, I like some Abba tunes, but I don't think Abba-style music really fits on this album, or at least not so often.

But, if you are patient, and up to the challenge, buy this album.

You'll not only get music unlike you've ever heard before, but also a lengthy illustrated booklet that tells the story of this concept album.

Do I listen to this CD all the way through? Not that often. I have a few favorite songs I like a lot, and there are others I personally can do without. But I have to say, Gerald Peter, who wrote the music for the album, and plays keyboards, is a genius.
