5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
I've been using this product for over four years and it is the best tanning/skin firming product on the market. The tan is even and looks natural. It smooths the skin and gives it a silky soft glow. Use daily for amazing results.

3.0 out of 5 stars Darker after Reformulation, May 5, 2011
This review is from: Jergens Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer, Fair to Medium Skin Tones 7.5-Ounces (Pack of 3) (Misc.)
I've been using the Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer line off & on (mostly on) for several years, in the "Fair" shade, and have very much enjoyed the product. Even my dermatologist said it looked natural. But now they've reformulated. You can no longer get "Fair," which has been replaced by "Fair to Medium."

I called Jergens and the representative was very helpful. She said that the "Fair to Medium" probably would be somewhat darker than "Fair." Turns out that's true. It definitely goes on darker, to a shade that's kinda fun, but is unnatural for me. (And I'm fair, but nowhere near pasty white.) Plus, it accentuates my age spots. Not only that, but over a day after I applied the lotion, I showered, and found darkish streaks on my pale yellow towels, which did not happen with the "Fair" shade. (Same towels, reformulated lotion).

The bottom line is that the "Fair to Medium" shade Natural Glow Moisturizer is, in my opinion, not a gradual tanner but a self-tanner. The thing with the age spots and towel "staining" (am confident it will come out easily in the washer, but it just doesn't look that great hanging on the towel bar) is characteristic of full-strength self-tanners.

It seems like lots of products are being reformulated "these days," and are not necessarily improved as a result. At least this reformulation is easier to live with than the recent one with my hair color (hint, hint, Miss Clairol Professional), but that is a totally different story.

Anyhow, you "Medium" skin tones might want to give this product a try. "Fair" tones probably want to consider another product, unless you'd be happy with a conventional self-tanner. I noticed that L'Oreal still has a "Fair" shade in their gradual-color moisturizer, and it's on Amazon. (I have not seen it in local drugstores). I plan to try that next.

Update: the L'Oreal "Fair" shade is now discontinued as well (the one I received from Amazon seemed a little old, but ok, so I called L'oreal, and they confirmed discontinuation). After using that, am now trying (long story) Designer Skin's "Tinted Love," which as I write is available on Amazon. Have used it a few days, and like it so far, especially the nice scent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tan is sexy, June 3, 2011
This review is from: Jergens Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer, Fair to Medium Skin Tones 7.5-Ounces (Pack of 3) (Misc.)
I used to go tanning at the salon religiously, i was obsessed with being tan. I know the risks and am ready to quit! I was looking online for a good quality self tanner, and this one had the best reviews. I literally used it on my whole body just last night, and i can already tell a difference! I can't even smell it! that is a huge plus because i hate the way self tanners smell, i am pleeeeased. A+! the only reason i don't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't work to well as a moisturizer, but that's not why i bought it so oh well! i highly recommend this to anyone who wants a healthy, natural looking skin tone! (and dont forget jergens natural glow for the face!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Gives me a nice color!, May 24, 2011
This review is from: Jergens Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer, Fair to Medium Skin Tones 7.5-Ounces (Pack of 3) (Misc.)
I love this stuff! I actually bought it in stores but I just wanted to write a review cause I love it so much.
I'm very fair naturally so tanning gives me freckles and visible skin damage. Instant tan products usally look fake and streaky, don't last more then a day or two, and are expensive. However this gives me a gradual color! Pretty much a 'base tan' on me. It smells nice and I'm no longer ghostly white. I have the facial moisturizer which works great as well. I look soooo much better with a little bit of color and Jergens natural glow line does the trick! I think I'm going to try medium to tan next since I've used their 'fair to medium'. I'm guessing I'm a medium now? lol hopefully the medium to tan will actually give me a TAN!
I would reccomend this to anyone who doesn't want to pay for tanning beds, doesn't want skin damage/cancer, and anyone who just wants a boost of color for summer or any season!! :-) You'll like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Smells Fab!, April 20, 2011
This review is from: Jergens Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer, Fair to Medium Skin Tones 7.5-Ounces (Pack of 3) (Misc.)
I'm as pale as one can get while still breathing and have embraced the paleness having tried every self-tanner on the market only to find myself stinky, blotchy and itchy after several days. I don't know what is worse, the stench or the itch that keeps me up all night. With no small amount of fear in my heart, I bought this product because I'm a sucker and after a long winter my legs are resembling those of a freshly risen corpse and soon it will be too hot to hide them under jeans. As I said I am pale so these "fair to medium" (which is sort of a catchall for most people and is one shade selection not two as some assume) usually work pretty quickly for me. The consistency is a rich cream, that is absorbed quickly and it smells fresh and is easy to apply. Hours later it still smells fresh rather than the stinky feet, stomach turning stench that will not die that always happens when the chemical that causes the faux tan kicks in. I can't comment on the "firming" bit. I don't believe any cream can "firm" you up, though a tan can minimize flaws, you really need a good diet, lots of water and exercise to get "firm", but the "glow" bit works beautifully for me and the smell is so nice that I will try it again. So far, day 3 here, I am also not itchy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, double benefits, August 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jergens Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer, Fair to Medium Skin Tones 7.5-Ounces (Pack of 3) (Misc.)
This summer, with two jobs, I've barely gotten out into the sun. So I wanted something that would be a gradual tanner and would have an added benefit. I picked up this three-pack because you can't beat the price and I figured a fair-to-medium would be a good bet. I'm happy with the product. I used to use Dove that was a WHOLE lot different. Dove didn't gradually tan you, it went right on and if I didn't scrub my hands you could see the orange. It didn't look as natural as this one does either. You won't immediately notice the effects, it will take 3-5 days to notice. But, I've been using this for two and a half weeks (missed a couple days), once a day (at night seems to be the best time) and I've noticed. I'm darker, but not unnaturally dark, and my skin (especially legs) are firmer.

The only reason I don't give it five stars is that it fades fairly quickly if you stop using it for two or more days.

2.0 out of 5 stars Makes me look orange and sparklie, August 8, 2011

I have EXTREMELY pale legs and natural tanning doesn't work for me as I have freckles. I've been using this product all summer and it takes about a week to build noticeable color. However, the color is far from natural. It makes me look like I have jaundice. Also, there's sparkles in lotion which I don't really find desirable.
It smells great though!

1.0 out of 5 stars Desperate to be tan, July 16, 2011
This review is from: Jergens Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer, Fair to Medium Skin Tones 7.5-Ounces (Pack of 3) (Misc.)
My skin tone is very light (ivory),although I tan when I'm in sun (instead of just burning). lately, I try to avoid the sun as much as possible as I don't want a lot of premature aging. However, I desperately wanted to be tan this pass summer, so I decided to go the self tanner way. I bought this jergens gradual tanner in hopes that is would give me a nice glowing tan. This product turned out to be a nightmare.

I'm embarrassed that I walked out of the house, because I looked like a Cheeto, which was pointed out by all my friends and family. This product didn't give me a natural glow, it made me look like some one dusted me with Cheeto powder. I was ORANGE for a week.

I applied this product everyday one to two times a day for about 3 days. Maybe I wasn't doing something right or I expected to much.

I will never use this product again.

- Now I'm off to find a real self tanner.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok..., July 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jergens Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer, Fair to Medium Skin Tones 7.5-Ounces (Pack of 3) (Misc.)
This product is OK. It will do what it's intended to do, firm the cellulite and make your skin "glow". What really sucks about it is, the "glow" is more orange than anything. And I know that I put this product on correctly. It does firm, I'll give it that.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok, July 1, 2011

Maybe I applied this stuff wrong, but after a couple weeks of using it I noticed that areas that weren't exposed to my clothing- between my boobs, under my arms, etc... had a nasty orange glow compared to the rest of my skin. I let the product dry a little before putting clothing on because I didn't want this to be an issue, but I just can't stand the orange residue. Other than that, the product darkened my skin like I expected.
(I also wasn't a big fan of the smell, but that's just a personal taste thing.)
