Great for understanding & healing.,
By Irene (Chicago, Il. USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Jericho Plan: Breaking Down the Walls Which Prevent Post-Abortion Healing (Paperback)
This book is wonderful. Filled with rich compassion, non-judgementalism and gives us women who have chose abortion our dignity. He challenges the pro life community to be more compasionate, more understanding, not knowing the full circumstancs each woman goes through. There are testimonies in the back of the book, I found helpful. This book is also great for clergy; of any faith. We women are teachers, doctors, mothers, friends, the walking wounded. We need much healing. Our greiving is done in secret. This book helps to identify our greif and help others who are going through the same. Very loving, very compassionate book.

Abortion Hurts, Christ Heals -- But What is the Church Doing?,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Jericho Plan: Breaking Down the Walls Which Prevent Post-Abortion Healing (Paperback)
The Jericho Plan brings to light a vital area of ministry that is missing (to a great degree) in the modern Church today...the area of recognizing and helping those in our midst that continue carrying the unbearable pain of a past abortion. The Church should be a safe place for the mothers, fathers, grandparents, extended family, friends, medical and clinic staff and clergy that have been wounded by abortion to share their pain and to receive love, compassion and hope for reclaiming their lives. We preach forgiveness, but we don't live it within the walls of our churches. We preach love and mercy, but turn a blind eye or deaf ear to these wounded by abortion in our midst. Just the mere silence of our church leaders on the topic of post-abortion pain for those that bear the grief, shame, guilt, and unrelenting emotional pain of a past abortion confirms the reason for their shame. We must begin speaking about abortion in our churches, and not simply on behalf of the unborn. We have to be an advocate for the living survivors of abortion. The Jericho Plan is vital to understanding the issue and knowing how to speak to it in a way that promotes healing, compassion and reconciliation.
Buy two copies: one for yourself and one for your pastor. Spread the word: Abortion hurts everyone it touches, Christ heals the brokenhearted, and WE in the Church are His hands and feet to that end.

To Be a Mother: Adopting God's Heart
One of the first book I read on the after effects of abortion. Very healing and revealing and paved the way for post abortive women like myself to step out, find healing and live to write about it... |
