Are you looking for a DVD that compiles interviews with Jerry Lee and friends Tom Jones, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry and others which also showcases the original performances of the killer himself?? Well, you've found what you're looking for in "I am what I am." Tons of songs with classic CONCERT & Television footage including Lewis' first appearances on television with songs such as "Whole lotta shakin'" and "Great Balls of Fire!" See other performances such as a BBC appearance performing "Wild One" and the finale song "I am what I am." Excellent! 60 minutes.

I've enjoyed this entertaining documentary for many years. Jerry Lee's early years and rise to stardom is covered fairly well, but the video races through the later years without covering too many details of that period in his life.

There are rare TV clips and various concert footage to enjoy including classic footage of The Killer's national television debut on the Steve Allen Show in 1957 where he tears into "Whole lotta shakin' going on" like a madman! There are some hilarious and priceless stories told about Lewis too, including an outrageous story of Jerry Lee stopping at a gas station and setting a display of cassette tapes on fire with gasoline after spotting a bootlegged copy of one of his albums for sale!!

The video ends with some outrageous live footage showing an older Killer unleashed in all his wild, flamboyant glory...playing the piano with his feet while standing on top of it to the delight of the audience. There should be a new documentary made that does a better job of covering Jerry Lee's life in greater detail, but "I Am What I Am" is still a must-have for any Jerry Lee Lewis fan!

If you appreciate music this is a must! I have been disappointed by artist that have significant acclaim & put out new music touting it as a master piece. Finally a legend shares his gift. Jerry Lee Lewis DOES NOT let us down.
This music is appreciated across the spectrum, gospel, rock & roll, classical, contemporary ECT. Trust this living legend he has something or everything for you here.
From a female perspective track two is desire for JERRY LEE.
A perfect x-mas gift for anyone.
