4.0 out of 5 stars Crowe
The problem with creating a soundtrack from the score of a Cameron Crowe film is that the man has superb taste in music and his movies last 2 plus hours in many cases, thus only so many songs from the score can be on the 70 minute soundtrack to which a compact disc is limited. I don't think the best job of selection was done in this case...reviewers before me have made...

3.0 out of 5 stars Where's Mingus????
This soundtrack is missing the song "Hatian Fight Song" from the bedroom scene. Outrageous tune. Check it out on "Pithecanthropus Erectus" by Charles Mingus.

3.0 out of 5 stars The song playing at the end..., November 30, 2005

...is track #6, "We Meet Again (Theme From 'Jerry Maguire')" by Nancy Wilson.

(I noticed someone posted a review asking about the "I know the language of your laugh" lyric, so I thought I'd post a quick review and the answer to that question)

K, here's my quick review: "We Meet Again" is a great song on a decent soundtrack. The consensus here seems to be that a lot of great songs were left out, and I agree. A music CD has a max capacity of 74 minutes --- too little time for the JM soundtrack considering there are enough great tunes in the movie for a double album soundtrack (like Forrest Gump). You could almost argue Cameron Crowe does too good a job at soundtracking his movies...

Anyway, it's a good soundtrack and well worth your money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Missing Songs, December 5, 2003

In response to the question, "I am looking for the name of the song ... played during the scence when cuba gooding is talking to jerry maguire on the phone right before his famous line of "show me the money"?" the answer is "The Wrong Come Up" by LV.

I gave this CD two stars because it is missing lots of good songs from the movie (like the one mentioned above).

5.0 out of 5 stars Name of the Musica and band, January 2, 2006
This review is from: Jerry Maguire: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Hi friends,
i'm from Brazil and i love this movie. I have the soundtrack, but i didn't found the music when Rod is playing to renegociate his contract whith his team. Is like a cuban rap, or something like that.

I love this song, but i just herd once, on this movie.

Please, if somebody can help, many thank's.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it, April 9, 2004

This is a cool soundtrack, great driving music. Jerry Maguire is one of my all-time favorite movies, so each song evokes the memory of a scene. But even though the music here is great, it is missing Jerry's "turning point" tune, "Free Fallin'" which would have made the album complete, so I have to knock off one star for that.

Question: Can anyone tell me which scene in the movie that Aimee Mann song is played?? Because I've watched it more times than I can tell you and I've never heard it in the movie!!

The song is "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye. It's on the album of the same name, released in 1971.

1.0 out of 5 stars Porch scene between Jerry & Dorothy, January 12, 2004

Two Paul McCartney instrumentals are used in the movie, "Momma Miss America" (during the airport montage) and "Singalong Junk" (during Jerry and Dorothy's first kissing scene on the porch).
