ROCK AND F-ING ROLL,
By A Customer
This review is from: Jersey's Best Dancers (Audio CD)
I had the opportunity to see these guys play when they opened for Good Riddance (along with Screw 32)... They blew Good Riddance away. I go to Good Riddance shows these days just to see what band is going to blow them away next, but anyway... Lifetime was introduced to me at that show. I picked up Hello Bastards and fell in love (their earlier stuff didn't really do it for me). When Jersey's Best Dancers came out I was elated, and upon listening to it, was overjoyed to find it just as outstanding as Hello Bastards. I've been into punk rock for 13 years or so and it's becoming increasingly harder for me to find bands I like and the ones I've liked for a long time are all broken up and not making new records for me to enjoy. I was heartbroken when I found out they had disbanded... just when they were getting good and just when I thought I found a new band to love. Lifetime rocks. Everybody I've played them for has loved them. Get it.

Lifetime is the best NJ has to offer,

Lifetime is definitely the best punk band to come out of NJ. The first time I listened to this cd I didn't get so into it, but the more and more I listened to it the more and more it grew on me. I can't wait to buy the rest of Lifetime's albums. What a shame I didn't catch on to them earlier....

This album, over the years, has meant more to me than almost anything. I can remember the summer between my freshman and sophomore year of college. I was interning at a company and a lady gave me a Tower gift card for my help. I went and bought this CD. This was in 1997 and I've listened to this album on a weekly if not daily basis since then!!! I can remember my sophomore year of college having my heart broken by a girl and going home and popping this CD in. It was almost like Ari knew how I was feeling. If I'm in the right mood, this album still brings tears to my eyes. (Go ahead and call me an "emo pu%@y." Hey, I have played in "tough guy" hardcore bands and I'll still admit this. haha.)
Imagine the perfect hardcore punk band complete with emotion, energy, sincerity, and catchiness and you still wouldn't come close to lifetime. I only wish bands that meant this much to me were still around. Oh and to the kid who said that Saves The Day didn't rip off Lifetime...have you ever heard Saves The Day's "Can't Slow Down" album? If that album isn't a BLATANT ripoff of "Jersey's Best Dancers" then I don't know what is.
