5.0 out of 5 stars Very good price
I priced this DVD on the History Channel and it was much more. I saved a lot of money and the service was excellent.

This program is OK for a bit of entertainment but it is no way in sync with actual history. What you have are two men who apparently have created a fantasy that includes a historic outlaw, Jesse James. Pastore claims he believes he has a "PhD in Jesse James" yet he gives no actual documentation for his outlandish theories and believes the James gang stole over 1 million dollars when actual historians put the number at around 250,000. He recognizes "Jesse's hand" in rock carvings. However he can't give one piece of actual fact that Jesse spent time carving wherever he went. The other actor in this Old West fantasy is Ganis. He self published two books, that is no actual publisher would waste their time on him, and claims to know the true James gang. However his claims are also unsupported and lack documented. Throughout his books he makes claims that are based on "legends" and documents that he suspiciously doesn't name. He claims there was a North Carolina band of the James Gang. Really? These men had chapters in other states like fraternities in colleges? The History Chanel has decided to sidestep actual history and go for something that is filled with supposition and fantasy. This is as ludicrous as the two hours they dedicated to the Holy Grail being in America when there's no actual documentation of an actual relic. If you watch this do so for entertainment only. If you find yourself actually believing what you hear question your sanity.

i found this to be pretty interesting. i caught part of it on the history channel and i had to see the rest. worth it though. only thing that one person has once said on here before is that where a commercial would be you can tell cause they go over what they just talked about. it takes the suspence away just a little and drags out the show... seems to be pretty accurate though i don't think there is much treasure to be found of jesse james since he paid out people and melted down any gold he ever stole. movie makes you want to go treasure hunt though!
