Not the greatest season but not bad. My question is why is the Minnie Driver episode not part of the Amazon package? She's in the opening.

Where is the Minnie Driver Episode? It's in the opening and Ancestry.com has blogged about it soooo where is it? If it's now going to be posted then Amazon is not posting full seasons.

I love "Who Do You Think You Are" and I excitedly await each new season. However, I could not give a rating of 5 because of the program’s lack of diversity in the celebrities showcased. The African American experience in America is rich and full of intrigue, as are other non-white ethnicities’ experiences in America. I am sure the producers of this program can find a more diverse and representative group of celebrities to explore the American experience in this fascinating and absorbing program.

Overall the season was good. I'm sure they choose the celebrities ahead of time, so can't always know what kind of stories they will find. Not everyone has an exciting family history or a famous ancestor, although everyone has at least one interesting story. I'm frustrated that the Minnie Driver episode is not included in this series. It was shown only once on TLC, and the full episode is not available anywhere - I've searched. I guess if you missed it you are just out of luck.

A genealogy program with a pop culture flavor. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE is a show that takes a celebrity and uncovers some part of their ancestry. The typical program involves travel to different locations and/or meeting people who are also descendents. There are several genealogy programs that exist and this one focuses more on personal discovery and personality and interesting historical tidbits rather than the nuts and bolts of research. While some sources and avenues for research are discussed, this program focuses more on the personal stories of the historical figures.

In Season 5 the program has not strayed from its formula of bringing interesting historical eras and the stories of famous and not so famous historical figures to light.

Raises the question, how much of who we are do we owe to our ancestors? If, as the series suggests, certain traits are passed on, then clearly this is a fascinating topic for anyone who wants to know where they came from and wants to research the unknown in their own family. I like seeing how the people react as they touch the past and their ancestors are brought to life. There are a lot of surprises!

I am so happy they brought this show back. I think everyone wants to know where they came from and get to know a little about who is responsible for their existence. Ancestry.com should never run out of celebrities seeking answers of their past, which means they'll have plenty of subjects to run this show for a long long long time! (fingers crossed!!!)

I enjoy the show but wish it was more like the UK and Australian versions. Less a commercial for Ancestry dot com and more about the history and socioeconomic of the times the ancestors lived.
