My daughter's favorite book,
This review is from: Jessica's X-Ray (Paperback)
This is my 2-year-old daughter's favorite book. The book has helped her understand a little bit more about bones, and I think it also awakens curiosity about what other mysteries might be hidden inside the body. I agree with another reviewer who said that there may be too much info about CAT scans and MRI for a small toddler, so I just abridge those pages ("This is a machine for taking pictures of the inside of your head!" and "This is another way to take pictures of the inside of your body -- you slide into this big tube and they take pictures," etc.) Olivia especially likes the wrist x-rays, the ultrasound baby and the dentist's x-ray of the mouth.

Jessica's X-Ray,
By Allison (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jessica's X-Ray (Hardcover)
This book is an amazing learning tool for kids and adults. Anyone could find useful information in Jessica's X-Ray. For kids though, the real X-ray's that you find within the book allow kids to become intrigued and raise there level of interest in the subject matter. I would recommend this book to anyone but especially children who might need any sort of X-ray, there is no doubt in my mind that it would ease their worries and facilitate a much easier and enjoyble experience in the hospital or doctors office. Thanks, Allison

X-Rays Up close!,
By Wendy Somerlot Bittel (Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jessica's X-Ray (Paperback)
This is a great story for any child who has an interest in bones, doctors, hospitals, the human body etc. The illustrations are cute. The story is of a little girl, Jessica, who has broken her arm. As she is receiving care at the hospital, she sees all different types of x-rays and the different types of equipment that take them. The best part of all is that there are real X-rays on every other page for kids to study up close. My preschoolers really enjoyed spending some time looking over those pages. It's a very unique book. I would highly recommend it for the budding scientist or for any child who may have to have X-rays of their own taken.

As a teacher, it is very hard to find books when we learn the letter 'x' in class. The story is great and the xrays that come with the story are awesome. The kids absolutely love them. Excellent purchase.

Great Little Book,
By SPC (Ireland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jessica's X-Ray (Paperback)
My 4 1/2 yr old daughter was due for an x-ray and ultrasound appointment at the hospital for a routine protocol procedure to rule out a pathology ... and as it was her first appointment for any kind of scan / x-ray, I wanted to explain the procedure, how it works, that she had to lie still and what it looked like afterwards. This book provides copies of real x-rays and has a simple story line which makes it easy to understand & reassuring to children ... and takes away the anxiety of "the unkown". I found it a very useful little book and she was amazed at the black & white x-rays depciting real life cases.

This book is a great way to introduce children to x-rays. The book comes with copies of real x-rays which help in explaining to children what will happen when getting an x-ray.

My 2 year old grand daughter broke her arm junping off the sofa! I got the call that she was wearing a pink cast and had not even cried. It was great to go to amazon/book and to find this lillel book under "child with broken arm" , I had never exoected to find any thing but there it was!
It is a very fact filled book with a story, medical reports and even real x-rays. I think her mother was more thrilled than Madeline, it has the whole story and explanation for all ages. Great book to have on haand...just in case |
