5.0 out of 5 stars So far the best Spanish version of JC superstar
I think this is the first and so far most popular version in Spanish of JC Superstar. Not agree with Iturriaga, Teddy is not bad at all as Judas, actually he transmit pretty good the feeling for every song he sings.
And Camilo Sesto is a GREAT singer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just Ok, December 16, 2001

As a Spanish speaker (so please forgive my bad English) and a huge fan of Jesus Christ Superstar, I must say that this version of the rock-opera isn't quite good. First if all, some of the orchestrations are very weird, but after all they're acceptable. The really annoying thing in this recording is the guy who plays the role of Judas: Teddy Bautista. Sorry Teddy, but you're by far the worst Judas I've ever heard (and I've heard a lot of different versions of JCS). His high notes sound absolutely terrible, and his whole performance is awful. I just couldn't believe it when I heard his "heaven on their minds" version for the first time.
Camilo Sesto as Jesus and Angela Carraco as Mary Magdalene are both good, Caiaphas is ok too. Some of the priests don't sound good at all. Simon Zealotes sings like he was bored; Herod is ok, but his final lines ("are you scared of me, Christ?....)sound really really annoying. Pilate is good (although I hated the arrangements for "Pilate's dream").
I'd only recommend this album because it's the one and only recording in Spanish, but any recording of JCS in English is better than this version. I highly reccommend you to buy the movie soundtrack (I think it's the best recording of JCS) or the 1970's original version, then try to find somewhere the lyrics in Spanish and then sing along in Spanish with the English version backround.
