I Love It--It's Wonderful,

The Hawkins Family/Love Alive will ALWAYS be favorites with me. The sound is unmistakenly Hawkins--from the rhythms to the harmony and on. Hearing this immediately takes my back to my high school days and the days of when most choirs and groups sang the songs of Walter and Edwin Hawkins. They were the "Hezekiah Walker/Kurt Carr/Ricky Dillard, etc." of the 1970's. I am glad these songs are available on CD--the albums are worn out from so much play "back in the day."

I WAS WONDERING IF I WOULD EVER GET THE CHANCE TO HEAR WALTER HAWKINS AND THE FAMILY SING "JESUS CHRIST IS THE WAY" AGAIN. THIS CD TOOK ME BACK TO MY TEENAGE YEARS, WHEN I WAS GOING TO CHURCH IN THE 70'S. BEING A INSPIRED MUSICIAN BACK THEN ,CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL OF THAT STYLE WAS ON HEARD OF, UNTIL EDWIN AND WALTER HAWKINS CAME ON THE SCENE. I WAS TOUCHED ,I WAS MOVED IN MY SPIRIT,MY HEART AND MY SOUL. WHAT A GREAT SOUND OF GOSPEL MUSIC AT IT'S BEST. THIS CD HELPED ME SPIRITUALLY WITH MY WALK WITH CHRIST AS A TEENAGER GOING THROUGH GROWING PAINS. I LOVED THE HAWKINS FAMILY SO MUCH, I BOUGHT EVERY ALBUM THAT CAME OUT. I WAS A HAWKINS FAN. I ALSO STUDY THEIR DRUMMER JOEL SMITH. AS A DRUMMER,IT WAS MY DREAM THAT ONE DAY I WOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY DRUMS FOR EITHER EDWIN OR WALTER HAWKINS. IN 1986,MY PRAYER WAS ANSWERED AND THAT DREAM CAME TRUE.I PLAY DRUMS FOR THE EDWIN HAWKINS MUSIC AND ARTS SEMINAR IN MILWAUKEE WI, WHICH ALSO INCLUDED A LIVE CONCERT.I THANK GOD FOR THE GIFT AND TALENT HE'S GIVING TO THIS FAMILY. MAY GOD BLESS THE HAWKINS FAMILY FOR GENERATIONS TO COME. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.

Classic--Love Lynette on "I Need Your Spirit"; and their background vocals were superb--Walter Edwin Tramaine--excellent.No other family has come forth like them.

I bought the product to again hear the song "Jesus Christ is the Way". There were at least four songs which made the CD well worth listening to, and I will probably be returning to Amazon to buy a few more CDs by this amazingly prolific choir.
