4.0 out of 5 stars There's no peace when your guest is a special baby, December 17, 1998
By A Customer
The simple line drawings are accessilble to all. the innkeeper certainly didn't know what he was in for when he let Mary and Joseph use the stable. Despite the bright light and all the interruptions the innkeeper finally gets in the spirit of things. A short, sweet look at the joy everyone had at the birth of a special baby.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable pictures and a cute version of the Christmas story, December 9, 1998
By A Customer
The poor inn keeper keeps getting woken up because two tired travelers need a place to stay, they need blankets, there is a bright light in the sky, three wise mencome looking for a baby...finally he storms down to the barn to give them a piece of his mind but stops when he sees the "lovely" baby. In his excitement he runs and wakes all the people staying at the inn to tell them about the baby!

5.0 out of 5 stars See Jesus' birthday from the eye of the innkeeper., December 4, 1998
By Denise M. Brady (San Jose, California, USA) - See all my reviews
"There was nothing the innkeeper liked more than a good night's sleep." Nicholas Allan tells this humorous Christmas story from the innkeeper's point of view. Little does the man know when he allows Mary and Joseph to bed in the stable that night that he's in for repeated interruptions of his beauty sleep. Being forced awake to give directions to shepherds and kings could make any man cranky, but when the innkeeper is awaken yet again by the heavenly host, the story really becomes funny. This story easily lends itself to dramatic reading and is a sweet experience for preschoolers through adults. Nicholas Allan's simple illustrations are the perfect compliment to this tale of Jesus' birth.
