4.0 out of 5 stars Uplifting!
Whatever your taste in music, (Christian - my personal favorite! , R&B,pop, even country)this CD has it all. It's especially nice to hear secular artists on this album. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not a very good collection but...
It does include two fantastic songs by Leanne Rimes with I Need You, which became so popular her record company used the song to sell an album (they made an album of early demos, put this song on it and named the album I Need You. They sold the album as new material, apparently she was less than pleased and didnt support it)

and Jaci Valesquez which is much less...

Whatever your taste in music, (Christian - my personal favorite! , R&B,pop, even country)this CD has it all. It's especially nice to hear secular artists on this album. Ironically enough, one of the best songs, "Jesus Loves Me", is done by Edwin McCain, not necessarily known in the Christian arena. Being a Steven Curtis Chapman and Avalon fan, their songs once again didn't disappoint, but then again, neither did the others. In response to a previous review by a music lover in Maryland, part of the CD's title is "...music INSPIRED by". Each artist was asked to contribute a song either inspired by the thoughts about who they thought Jesus to be, or simply what Jesus means to them. There's certainly nothing wrong with 98 Degrees or Hootie and the Blowfish singing about Jesus - in fact, I'm sure He's delighted that they are! And more should! Music used to glorify God in any form should be appreciated.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very beautiful!, April 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Jesus: The Epic Mini Series (Audio CD)
I didn't even plan to buy that CD. It happenned by surprise. I went into this christian bookstore and a song from the soundtrack was playing (it was the track of Leann Rimes) I immediately ask where I could find the song and of course they told me it was from this compilation. I listen to the whole CD and I thought it was very refreshing. The songs are very beautiful and touching. I love the work of Steven Curtis Chapman, Avalon, Jaci Valesquez,98degrees,I could go on and on...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Soundtrack!, March 30, 2000
This review is from: Jesus: The Epic Mini Series (Audio CD)
It's a GREAT soundtrack, lol. What drew me to it was the fact that 98 Degrees' new song was on it. :) The song is a very beautiful ballad (can't wait for new album) sung by the guys. There are other highlights on the album, too: Leann Rimes and Steven Chapman also have nice ballads. Jaci Velasquez (very talented and known for her Christian pop), sings a very touching and inspirational song. Avalon's got a nice beat to it and pleasing to listen to. Those are the repeats that I like, the other songs are good also. If you like ballads, up-tempo, inspirational songs (and diversiy b/c it has country too), this is the album! You don't necessary have to be Christian to enjoy it (or other religions).

5.0 out of 5 stars You need this album "...like breath, like rain...", April 21, 2000
This review is from: Jesus: The Epic Mini Series (Audio CD)
Those are the refreshing words in the hit song "I Need You" by LeAnn Rimes. That, is in fact the title track to the mini-series that this soundtrack represents. Not only will LeAnn Rimes' new single please the listeners, but people such as 98 degrees, Lonestar, Sarah Brightman, all of those people and more will make sure that the album just isn't a "one hit wonder"!

I was eagerly waiting for this CD because of the artists on it, and it definitely did not disappoint. I bought the CD because of Steven Curtis Chapman and Avalon, and their songs are up to their high standard. What surprised me was the songs by Leann Rimes, Edwin McCain, and 98 Degrees. My favorite song from my first listening (which is right now) is "The Love That You've Been Looking For" by 98 Degrees. Great harmonies! This is one great soundtrack!

I bought this album, not knowing really what it was going to be like. All the songs are great, my overall favorite has to be "I Need You" by LeAnn Rimes. She has such a powerful amazing voice, and the song is beautiful. This CD gives something that about everyone will like. Different artists from pop to country all bring in making a wonderful various artists CD!

Regardless of your musical tastes, this album provides something for everyone....Chrisitan, Pop, Rock, R&B, Country, Classical. It's great! I enjoy the mixture of different artists. I Need You, by LeAnn Rimes is really great and stirring, Jesus, He Loves Me, by Edwin McCain is one of my favorites... beautiful piano music, Spirit In The Sky, remake by dc Talk, really rocks in their usual DC style, City By A River, by Hootie & The Blowfish is another favorite of mine. Avalon, Steven Curtis Chapman, 98 Degrees, Lonestar, Jaci Velasquez. It's a great cd. I've heard some criticism from the Christian community about the mixture of Christian and secular muisicans on this project....I think it's a great blend and, as a Christian myself, am glad to see the gap between Christian and secular music being bridged. It's a good way to reach out to others and share the title of the album.....Jesus.

THIS CD IS SO WELL PRODUCED! My favorites are Leann Rimes's "I Need You" and Lonestar's "Love Can Change Your Mind". I think it is the best song of Leann Rimes' carreer. THIS CD IS BETTER THAN ANY RELEASED THIS YEAR!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff!, May 3, 2000
This review is from: Jesus: The Epic Mini Series (Audio CD)
A nice, eclectic mix. I'm not up on current Christian pop, so I was listening with no preconceptions. The cover of "Spirit in the Sky" is a delight, and Edwin McCain's song is terrific. (I'm not fond of the teenybopper sound, so 98 degrees & Yolanda Adams didn't do much for me. I also thought Steven C. Chapman was bland: but this is my personal preference in music.) Hootie & the Blowfish delivered as usual, and Sarah Brightman makes me wish I could sing like that. I will play this many times: it's worth the money.

This album is fun, inspiring and a joy to listen to. I love dc Talk's version of "Spirit in the Sky" and Edwin McCain's soulful, "Jesus, He loves me" will always be a favorite. The best thing is to hear a collection of positive songs being sung by so many popular artists. Thanks to the record producers, Sparrow Records, Capital Records and CBS for this gem. I'm telling everyone about it.
