The last days of Jesus Christ are told in four segments in this final installment of a four-tape series. The Jewish priests have trouble collecting plausible testimony against their nemesis, while Peter makes his first denial in "Jesus Before the High Priest." Roman leaders Pilate and Herod pass Jesus back and forth, until he is finally turned over to the Jewish people and crucified (offscreen) in "Trial Before Pilate." At the request of suspicious religious leaders, Roman soldiers guard Jesus[' tomb, but the stone rolls away on its own in "The Lord Is Risen." Finally, Jesus appears to the Marys, two men walking to Emmaus, doubting disciple Thomas, and ultimately, the rest of the apostles in "The Lord's Ascension." Throughout this 47-minute tape, actors dramatize these Bible stories while a narrator elaborates in these excerpts of archival footage. The quality of the performances is high, although the unidentified footage is clearly old and can vary in quality.
