The book is very silly at times and the end rambles on but it is written with such extreme honesty and good intention the book is worth reading. Even if you don't believe everything the author claims to have happened, it is still very thought provoking. Your own dreams and life experiences will verify whether or not her questions should be considered. Her section on picture prayers should have been expanded. That was such a gem. The beginning of the book may make you cry and/or worry. I had trouble sleeping after reading some sections. I'd give the book a 5 but the end just didn't stand up to the wonderful material presented earlier in the book and some of the 'advice' sounded like it was written for teens or those with little education. I will be buying copies for family members since it did make me stop and think about many things in life.

Does God still directly reveal Himself out of the blue to people 2000+ years after the Bible was completed? You bet! Heidi was given the rare privilege of meeting the resurrected Lord in these final days before His return to earth. Her book is a colorful spiritual journal, well written in a unique casual style - making it an easy read. I am one who reads books on the supernatural to get new revelations from God, and I found a lot of these golden nuggets of God-given tips on living a meaningful victorious life in this book. This is a must read for all who live their lives without taking the Author of Life seriously. Thanks Heidi for sharing your personal encounter with the Man Himself.

A raw outpouring of pure emotion from someone who is hardly a member of the clergy - "Jesus is No Joke: A True Story of an Unlikely Witness Who Saw Jesus" is the tale of Heidi Hollis and her religious experience after one random nap - which revolutionized her life and changed it forever. She explains what she saw and pours out real, true emotion - with little political motivation that one so often hears from the ordained clergy. An inspiring and encouraging tale for spiritual people, "Jesus is No Joke: A True Story of an Unlikely Witness Who Saw Jesus" is a must for community library spirituality and Christian studies collections.

I really enjoyed this book. It helped reinforce my faith. It's good to know that Jesus still shows himself to people today even though we not deserve it. It is also good to know that I'm not the only person left in the world that is interested in UFOs and the paranormal and still believes in God. Heidi has a writing style that carries a strong sense of humor that I like. Buy it. You'll like it.

I enjoyed Heidi' s heartfelt account of her life experience and visions. I had started to read her other book about shadow people but gave it up as it had made me uncomfortable as a Christian. Specifically the "channeling" of spirits that her roommate did bothered me. In general I think that practice can open one up to negative spirits and take an unnatural toll on the physical body of the channeler. I am not making this statement as a definitive rule for everyone, just explaining that I had to stop reading myself, personally because my conscience was acting up. I don't mean to say that it is wrong for everyone to read or even to do, just for me. Because of my "make-up", where I come from, I have to personally leave that topic alone and not read things channeled (I have in the past and it was not positive for me personally). I had returned that book but had this Jesus is no Joke book on my wish list, realized it was the same author and immediately started it. So glad that I did. I am one that has done a fair bit of reading about "alien" accounts, love dystopian sci-fi, explored other faiths but found Jesus to be the only path that makes sense. HEIDI is correct about the fact that many folks are having visions of Jesus at this time. (Especially in the Middle East). There are various testimony themed websites that bear this out ( precious testimonies.com to name one). It would be so cool if Christians were to turn the world upside down again before Jesus' return... I think this book is very motivating in that regard. I also agree with her assessment that it is very likely that calamities are going to happen on earth. Based on all the Hollywood disaster movies, zombie craze, etc. It almost seems like humanity "knows" something is on the horizon.

In recent months, I have been searching out a lot more books in the Religion & Spirituality genre. I am always interested in hearing about Christianity from unlikely sources. Heidi Hollis is definitely an unlikely source, and "Jesus Is No Joke" is her story of coming to know Jesus.

I have to admit that there were times when reading her book was a little difficult for me. I come from a very conservative Christian background, and the experience Hollis describes are unlike anything that I have ever experienced in my spiritual journey. Hollis talks about how Jesus appeared to her on different occasions to share His presence and to heal her of disease.

I do believe that there is a spiritual realm that most humans will never experience. I also believe that there are some people who are more in tune with that spiritual realm. The author's background is one in which she is more sensitive to the spiritual realm than most of us.

One thing I do know is that Heidi Hollis wants to make a difference for Jesus. I really enjoyed her story, and I particularly enjoyed her chapter on prayer in this book. Since reading her book, I have exchanged a few messages with her on Twitter. She loves Jesus and wants the world to know that He is real and wants to return soon.
