5.0 out of 5 stars Kick Back-Recline-Have a Drink & Be Lucky you've got this...
I'm a D.J and spin Electro Techno but after a while 4/4 gets boring. So when it comes to what I listen to its lounge style French Trip Hop and Downtempo/Acid Jazz. Stuff like Air & Thievery Corps. But Kid Loco is simply the best. I know own all his stuff and this one is so incredible, the female vocals on most of the tracks are just so beautiful it will make you...

3.0 out of 5 stars Quality remixes, mixed results: artists given a subdued spin
Remix albums are always a hit & miss bunch, because the songs require you to like the original artists' work and the reinterpretations by the mixer. Well hey, this is no different, with equal amounts of inspired pieces, take it or leave it tunes, and scramble for the skip button music. With Kid Loco, you get his hazy slow beats meets natural percussion sound (think...

4.0 out of 5 stars diving into warm water, December 19, 2001

This album is still taking me far, far away and I've heard it hundreds of times. This is "elegant" music by all means that has the power of submerge you effortless into a beautiful and soft universe.
After over-listening to Air, Carboot Soul, Fila Brazilia, Massive Attack and other great down-tempo music this album felt completly unique and refreshing.
Buy it whithout a doubt and dive into warm water.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOCO IS A GRANDMASTER OF TRIP HOP MIX, February 4, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Jesus Life For Children Under 12 Inches (Audio CD)
When I first heard "Prelude to a Grand Love Story," I thought I heard it all. Loco has topped what was thought to be the standard for which all Trip Hop is to be compared. Jesus Life For Children.. is even better than his first project. So far, the French are simply the best for this style of music. This CD has a very relaxing and groovy feel from start to finish. Takes you to far off exotic places when listening. I really enjoy the traditional jazz mixes that Loco throws into the soup.

While I was in Europe, many of the most popular Lounges and Clubs would play one or two tracks from this CD. Women seem to really get turned on to the hipnotic rhythms.

The only disappointment I would have is that LOCO doesn't put enough material out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mogwai, February 28, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Jesus Life For Children Under 12 Inches (Audio CD)
The remix of the mogwai song Tracy is enought to buy the album, one of the prettiest long songs. Listen to any with anyone you like and you will always connect it with them. The Mogwai version of Tracy doesn't come close.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best CD to relax, April 28, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Jesus Life For Children Under 12 Inches (Audio CD)
This is definitevely my CD of the year 2001. It is very slow and soft, but very intense. Listen to it on your stereo when you go to sleep, when you are in the mood to relax. Wonderful remixes! You have to like soft or very relaxing music, but if it goes into your skin, and even deeper and you will never forget the feeling. Even if you listen it 200 times it will never get boring or simple. It is simple and complex. You will always find something special in each song. This is my favorite CD.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jesus Life For Children Under 12 Inches (Audio CD)
I bought this album way back in October, and I'm still not sick of it. Kid Loco adds his own unique mellow touch to all these tracks and manages to remix a pulp song and make it great! On the Talvin Singh remix, Loco takes the violin solo at the end of the orignal (which is around ten minutes long) and then puts it over some really nice beats, while repeating a few of the violin sequences and adding some light choir-ish vocals in the background. For any fan of trip hop, or dub, this compilation of Kid Loco remix tracks is a must. I also can't recommend his full length album enough...there is NO way to get sick of Kid Loco, he is perfect for any occasion.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice mix of music, August 4, 2003

Well, first of all i want to tell you that this CD it's a beat and pop chill-out (electronic of course). Here there are no funky no jazz no fusion etc. The music it's a little "old fashion style" but for sure it's of good quality. I love very much the sequence, very clever and never casual.
I suggest to listen KAT ONOMA with his LA Chambre (very sensual atmhospere) PULP with A little soul and CORNU with Youpi, 3 very different songs but they give to you the exact feeling of the CD. KID LOCO makes his job in a real personal style very far from his dj Frances collegues (CHALLE, RAVEN, POMPUGNAC ETC.)

A superlative piece of work from Kid Loco he unleashes his remixing talents with great effect. Artists such as Talvin Singh, St Etienne, Pulp etc..get the makeover. Put the CD on put your feet up and let Kid Loco take on a musical remixing ride !

4.0 out of 5 stars All I've wanted to listen to lately...., August 27, 2000

is this, Peace Orchestra, Radio Head, Morcheeba, and United Future Organization. I love everything except # 11, which has a little too much screeching for me to handle. I wish it just wasn't there, but the rest of the cd is worthy of many multiple listens.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Remixed Downbeat Trip Hop, April 22, 2000
By
This review is from: Jesus Life For Children Under 12 Inches (Audio CD)
After listening to audio Samples and reading favourable reviews I decided to purchase Kid Loco's "Jesus Life for children under 12 inches." This album as a whole has a very laid back, yet funky feel. The tacks Loco has selected are diverse, yet he manages to remix them so they relate to each other. The album has a complete feel, and touches on various genres of music from Pulp to french trip hop. I personally feel some of the female vocalists from the first few tracks lack a certain substance but this is only a minor floor. Loco could have made this album really exceptional by interweaving the tracks into each other creating a seamless mix.
